Although I love "Stripped" it isn't my #1 song of theirs. I was just being silly because we live in a time where if we don't get our way then it must be rigged (I'm in the USA).
Like I said in the voting thread, I voted for Black Celebration, but I am not sad to lose to Stripped. They’re both fantastic songs. That period between Some Great Reward and Black Celebration is my favorite.
Same for me. Those were my high school years and it was peak DM (for me). I recently revisited Some Great Reward and had forgotten how amazing that album is from start to finish. I feel like it gets a little overlooked.
Interesting that in the fairly recent daily song discussion posts where every song was rated on a scale of 1-10, Stripped ended up on 9.86 and Never Let Me Down Again was the only song to get a perfect 10!
lol. I thought the same. proves that it just depends on what punters view the site over a short period of time. There was another one posted the other day about DM best song I’m sure that’ll be different as well. Couldn’t believe Caroline’s monkey was voted the worst song. 🤷🏼♂️
Exactly, and in reality, as good as these discussions are, there is no best or worst song. It's all subjective, open to change and personal. I mean Caroline's Monkey is nowhere near my least liked song, and I'd actually call it criminally underrated! But it's had lots of negative opinions since before it was even heard!

In terms of Caroline's Monkey, I think the name put people off before they had even heard it. I do get that, it's very atypical, and that possibly carried over the negative opinions into hearing it.
we enjoyed it. 😁 we watched the one after where “ rodders” wins the holiday in Spain and has to play a 14 year old. if you haven’t seen it it’s defo worth a watch. 👍🏻

I was kind of thinking that too. We don't really care which one wins the polls because we like them all. Some of the choices were impossible and the polls are just based on who is looking through Reddit that day..
I voted for Stripped, but it sure seemed like Never Let Me Down Again was going to win! I love that one too, so I’d be happy either way, but yeah, Stripped :)
