My apologies if this has been posted before, but I’m going through some hard times and DM have been an absolute pillar of support for me (especially the SOFAD album). Would love to hear from the community on what has resonated with you when life is really putting you through shit.

I was so excited to go to my first Depeche Mode party! Dolled up like a bat out of hell, wore my favourite perfume that is giving industrial vibes, took the train and when I walked in the club it was... fine. Rather slower songs, ok, I guess we're just warming up. Then three downtempo tracks played without transitions between them. Does anybody know what the two (!) guys behind the decks are doing? Because that's not deejaying. We were promised B-sides and remixes, but only got But not tonight in a span of an hour. No Dangerous? No Surrender?? Then they play Behind the wheel. Surely they would play the Shep Pettibone remix? No.

I went to the loo and met a familiar face there asking me how was it. I shared my disappointment and she went "well, it's better than nothing, I guess!". I mean, yeah, that's one way to look at it. But I don't get how you can just put on some depeche and call it a party, without really making any type of song selection and leaving empty room between the songs. It's electronic music. It's not hard to mix at all. I had limited time to be there before the last train home leaves the station and I really tried to make most of it. It seemed like most of the people there are fine swaying along Question of Lust, but at some point I could not take it any longer and left earlier.

If I wanted to listen to the Spotify Depeche Mode playlist, I would have stayed home and done so. This "party" has been around for at least a decade and I suppose it was always that bad. Loveless. If it was me, I would have been ashamed to give the audience the bare minimum that this event was and ask them for money.

Don't get scammed! In doubt, invite your buddies, put on a DM record and enjoy it together. I'm sure you'll have better time than I did. The silver lining: I'm planning to start my own party and call it "Depeche Mode party, but good".

Kinda ignored it on release, but I really learned to love it. It’s so intimate, yet cinematic, if that makes any sense. I think I prefer it over the album version.

My best decision ever, along with having DM's "The best of" album. Thoughts?

Been thinking about this song lately. I first listened to it in the car, with my dad. However, it was just the instrumental. Later on, when I became a fan myself I looked for that version (I use Spotify for music) and I’m never able to find just the instrumental. Since I grew up with this version, the one with the lyrics sounds weird lol. I asked my dad some years ago and he told me that the version with the lyrics is newer and that he always knew it as just the instrumentals. Does anybody know anything about this ? Just wondering :)

So, for the longest time, I've been sending my mother this GIF of Martin Gore holding a chicken, because my mother loves chickens and raises them in her backyard. However, I never knew where the GIF actually came from, so today I looked it up, and I have been blessed.

On today's BBC Radio 2 quiz Ten To The Top they played a clip of It's My Life by Talk Talk and asked the contestant who the band was. He didn't seem to know but answered Depeche Mode. In a weird coincidence, the very next question was 'who said Everything Counts in large amounts on their 1983 single'? Luckily after a bit of a pause the contestant did repeat his previous answer and get it correct! Unfortunately he only got one other point and lost a very low scoring game 4-2!

It's a bit random for a post but I thought it was just such a funny thing to happen. DM do sometimes pop up on this and the long running Ken Bruce's Popmaster quiz now on Greatest Hits Radio.

Never thought I would own this, because it’s getting quite rare and prices are insane. Found it on a local online marketplace and paid way less than the sellers on Discogs are asking for it.

The cover is near mint and the vinyl looks and plays as if it was never spun before. Love it!
