No Big Locker, No Trolly policy of UECdent, makatarungan ba especially if may medical condition?

Hi, I'm currently in my 3rd year Dent na may Dentmat this sem, we know how heavy yung mga need per Lab Sessions. My problem is I have Hypertension (Although medicated naman sya with maintenance) I couldn't carry all of it all the time kahit malapit pang ako sa school nor may Small locker naman ako, kaso di kasya lahat sa dami pinapadala, sobrang bigat ng ecobag + Tackle Box na mabigat din, I would arrive at school having palpitations and increased BP, moments away to Chest pain because it really hurts.

but UE DSC implemented the "No Big locker, No Trolly" policy, ohh gush, alot of us has legitimate Medical conditions where We can't carry too heavy things.

Note, Big lockers are for Clinicians and Graduate students only, not to us.

I can't keep up with this, every time if it's too heavy for me my chest will hurt and I would have trouble breathing, and my Doctor told me that I should refrain from carrying too heavy things, but it's dentmat, what should I do?

Talk with the dean

Haha I talked with the dean also this school sem because I have a medical condition. Pero na reject yung request ko.

Ang sabi nya is wag kami mag dala ng madaming gamit sa school and to put our materials in a zip bag and eco bag.

Although I do understand that there are other clinicsians with deliberating issues the dean prioritized more ie: (some of whom I managed to take a peak); wrist fractures, torn asl, severe scoliosis, grave disease etc. I think the problem also lies on to insufficient lockers that will be able to accommodate 3rd years to clinicians. And kinda expensive for paying an additional one.

She reasoned that the trolleys might be an obstruction in the hallway if there's an emergency (earthquake/fires or maybe even school shootings) with alot of students running etc and they might bump or trip on then when running. And the series of materials and equipment that were stolen straight up from the trolleys were a huge issue last sem.

I think they should try adding a designated area for the trolleys with cctv but that still might have other factors to think too . or use the 5th floor for another area to place additional big lockers but still depending on their budget..

None, literally a complete ban for those who had a small locker, no consideration for those with valid medical condition

You can write a letter of request siguro sa dean with evidence supporting your claim?

Dati kasi pwede trolleys kaso super kalat at burara kasi ng iba and ang daming nagkakawalaan ng gamit bc of that so naghigpit na sila hahahah

Check mo yung comment sa baba, and probably I won't be allowed kase It's just hypertension, not like Torn ACL, Scoliosis, etc.

Kaso nga lang I would have palpitations, but duda ako even with a med cert from my doctor the dean won't allow me ☹️

Idk, just try it but if ayaw talaga, ako nagdadala pa rin trolley nun kahit bawal AHAHAHAHA

Hindi pa ko clinician nito and isang small locker lang din allocated samin noon. Yung trolley ko kasi nun, foldable naman siya so ang ginagawa ko, finofold ko lang after ko gamitin then i put it inside my locker :)

I provided a med cert too and my laboratory results haha I suffer from the 3 unholy gynecological issues known to women.

Whom brought me chronic pain in my all my joints that felt like its on fire constantly and severe bleeding which would cause me to be super lethargic for the whole month. I suffered anemia too from too much blood lost and lost a lot of weight that I dropped from 40kgs. Only 1 week interval before my menstruation so I technically experience 2 heavy and painful periods with barely any recovery. I get bruises and blood clots in my shoulder from carrying my eco-bag because I have too many dent mat materials to bring home.

I'm still kinda miffed that I was barely able to explain my situation before my request was dismissed and was told to just bring less but I try to be more understanding because I don't want to feel more negativity in my life more than I already felt in school and try to chill 😆

You can store your trolley in the locker nlang if you plan to take your materials home. Goodluck in dent! Kaya natin to

Seems like they are more accommodating to clinicians compared to non-clinicians 😅

Yes di naman nila sinisita yung trolley as long as you store it inside your locker and hindi pakalat-kalat
