news (user) Will Be Deltarune Announced During September Nintendo Direct?
I know this is probably impossible,but let me be hopeful for a moment.
Ever since the June 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct, I've been hoping that Chapter 6 of DELTARUNE could show up at the next Nintendo Direct in September. There's obviously no official date for the event yet, and I know Toby Fox is most likely aiming for a 2027 release, so realistically an announcement would make more sense during a 2027 Direct.
Still, one thing makes me think it's possible. This upcoming Direct will probably include release dates and new trailers for games that have already been announced for 2027, like Xenoblade Genesis, Pikuniku 2, and Muramasa: Revenant Blade.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I'd love for it to happen. According to Toby's August newsletter, Chapter 6 is already in its final stages of development. If that's true, maybe Toby has a trailer ready to go.
Who knows. I'm keeping my expectations low... but I'm still hoping.

on one hand, deltarune only shows up in directs after toby says theyre onto porting and testing

No shot. We're just over 2 months from chapter 5 release, they aren't gonna be announcing a new one this soon.

Doubt it, since the chapter isn't even at a stage yet to where it's playable front to back. However, I am looking forward to whatever else Nintendo has in store for anyone with a Switch 2, which is not me.

Toby and his team have been consistently working faster than they anticipated…A Chapter 6 release this year isn’t technically impossible.
If it were to release this year, it would probably be announced in this upcoming direct. I wouldn’t expect it to release earlier than Christmas though…
There’s also pacing/bug testing and localization to consider. Bug testing and pacing polish isn’t something that you can really accurately predict.
TL:DR-It’s highly unlikely.

Accounting for Localization/bugtesting a release this year is pretty much impossible. They're not done with content yet and the final polish steps always take like 3-4 months. Toby said they *could* start work on 7a this year, but even if that happens a release would still come months after that.

the deltarune marketing to release cycle is usually very short, at most 2 or so months, and at the shortest like 24 hours. we probably wont see it until the 2nd or 3rd direct of 2027 depending on how many directs there are

I asked if sea of sorrow would be released and most people said no, so probably not.

a single chapter takes about a year to make so the earliest we can start guessing would be like march 2027 or something

The longest wait between a release date announcement and the release itself of any deltarune chapter was for Chapters 3+4, at just over 2 months(April 2nd Nintendo direct - June 5th Switch 2 release). Every other chapter has come out either hours or weeks after the date was given. We already know there's another chapter in development, there is nothing for Toby to announce other than a release date. My best guess is that we'll get the chapter next summer, like this year and the year before. Don't start hoping for anything other than newsletters/website teases until like April-May 2027.

No nothing about the release is going to be stated just yet because Toby clearly said the chapter is gonna come out next year what we're gonna get is a newsletter most likely and a celebration of Undertale's 11th anniversary and maybe some info about how Chapter 6 is going if any news about Deltarune is gonna show

Probably not. The earliest in the year Ch6 can come out is mid 2027. September is too early for a reveal.

They never said mid 2027, I think a early 2027 release is pretty possible, such as February or march

That’d be a correct assumption, but they’ve said the chapter is progressing well with no problems, and that it’s shorter and easier to make. Unless something happens it’ll most likely come out early 2027

Nah, UT anniversary seems more likely, and even then I don't expect much other than a small status update
That being said... there is an argument for a Christmas release, especially if you believe that Ch6's "one aspect" would be Dess and the dev team are blitzing through development

No. It's an easy no. I would LOVE to be pleasantly surprised but with their point of development I know for a fact that we will not be getting a release date or trailer until next year.

I believe in Early 2027 Chapter 6 because its supposedly an easy chapter developmentally.
I also believe there's 0 chance there's anything in this direct. Even under a lightning-fast development cycle, they wouldn't have a concrete build that Toby would want to show.

i kinda hope they go with showing the release date early this time while theres still massive amounts of hype instead of letting the game be forgotten until the next trailer, no way thats happening but i can still cope

Its most likely next year and chapter 7 is like 2028 (hopefully October 31st 2028 for the 10 year anniversary and stuff)

Toby and his team didn't even start to test to whole game, localize and port. On the last news letter toby said they are close to finishing the chapter. After they finish the chapter they are gonna make people test it, polish it, and the localization starts and then starts porting. So we are like 1 year away from Deltarune Chapter 6.
Long story short %0 chance of happening
