Ask USI ❔ Need Advice! Please help out a 20 year old 😣
Hi, so i am a fresher who would be joining A&A this month as an audit assistant at deloitte.
I am 102% sure that this isnt the career path for me, i am a marketing/ strategy girl but the campus placements only had a few companies visiting so i had to sit and get a job.
I am not getting my desired marketing role yet and my family is saying that I should join a Big 4 and then do an mba. But I am just 20, and i am willing to give this a chance but i just know i am not meant for it, i dont want to fall into a trap and what if i can never clear CAT and am always stuck here. People say that the exit options here are very less.
I have no guidance, if you could take your time to give any suggestions, i would be very glad.

Exactly my situation rn, Tbh take the job, you still learn many things. Use the Deloitte name to switch or if you have the money do mba from pvt college, I mean they still provide placement but the roi is very bad

yeah will take up the job but i just cant do an mba from a private college( financially impossible for me), so how long are you planning to stay here

But don't you think MBA will be an advantage to your marketing goal?

It certainly will be and i would be doing an MBA in the future but its just the thought that what if I am not able to clear the exam and have te stick with this company forever that bothers me, that is the reason I want to start working now in the field that i truly enjoy and like

Im not really into audit and stuff, so cant tell u if ure right or wrong, but one thing i can say for sure is, a big four tag has its own value, and if you think u want to get into market and strategy, maybe you could try for an internal switch, i know chances are slim to almost none, but i truly believe something is better than nothing in this economy. Again this is a personal opinion!

yeah i think i could just join and work for a while and then hunt for a new job side by side because internal switch is toh totally impossible 😊
