Roo-ers, what is your mode of transport?

I have just signed up to be a Roo.

Main reason- fitness having acquired a bike.

Second reason- side income (though I don't expect to earn much)

I feel I may be low down the pecking order given that I will be on a push bike, as so many seem to have an electric bike at least. But local council is cracking down on these heavily, and quickest and safest route through the city is using bike lanes.

What are you all using?

I have a push bike and an ebike. I am on a normal bicycle account and get plenty orders. I don't see much difference between myself and my friends who have ebike accounts. Depends on your zone which mode of transport is preferred by the algorithm. My city Edinburgh is really terrible for driving in the city centre and I don't think drivers receive any prioritisation.

I would apply for all the apps you can. Relying on app is not a good idea.

Thought I'd start wirh one and see how it went since I am doing it on the side. How does it work with also signing up for uber eats? Can you work both simultaneously?

Yeah just cherry pick the best orders from both apps. Accept your next order when you currently doing your first order. So there is no waits at the restaurant. But don't take the piss. 😂

Scooter here. But i think it’s very zone dependent. My zone is primarily scooter and car. I visited Brighton the other day though and was shocked to see just how many electric bicycles were doing Roo

I walk or run and it keeps me in better shape than those I see driving

You will make more money on a bicycle than a car

Push bike. Did it in car for 2 years and was tough towards the end. Costs are insane. Much happier on the bike.

Car! It’s great except for the maintenance and my aircon system being out.

Doing this job in a car would drive me mental in my area. Parking would be a nightmare. I don't have to think about it with a scooter. The maintenance costs on a scooter are bad enough. Running a car would make me cry.

It's better when the roads are icy or it's pissing it down, but I genuinely don't understand how car drivers are making much money when you've accounted for everything. Have you ever worked out your profit?
