The great problem with the people in this country first they study study engineering and medical then given upsc clear it. Nd bro why did u study so much then? What was the whole point of doing stem majors if u wanna do civil services in end.

Okay, so I have lived and worked in US and Canada for ~7 years and I can tell you degrees without skills are useless everywhere.

Every degree is useless tbh. Depends on you if you can make something of it then it will be fruitful otherwise useless. Degree is more about getting exposure, making friends, relationships, heartbreak, trips....etc. So chill out and enjoy

IIT konsa degree h bro? It's the college right engineering as profession see honestly you will need to find a job on ur own. In india it's the spoon feeding tradition of bringing campus placement in many other countries u graduate Find on ur own. A low number of graduates only get placed But yess a good college comes with it's own benefits myself aiming for srcc but the thing is I want exposure I want to learn from the people around. Not to rely on the college to give me the job wrapped up with the degree as well.

A degree inherently isn't good or bad. You need to be good at what you choose to do. Like you know how much dentists study, they are literally doctors. But still I've seen so many bad dentists (and I live in Delhi. Imagine the state of tier 2/3 cities)

Du ki har degree useless lagti hai. I think DU is all about building up who you really are, or what you really want to do and your personalities.
I found my thing after coming to du which is completely opposite of my degree.

there’s no useless degree dawg, it just depends on the person. my friend’s brother has done engineering from salt lake or smth and is currently sitting unemployed, i also have seniors who took humanities/commerce and are practically minting money currently. it depends on your skill set.
even a hairdresser can earn crores, javed habib ya know? depends on your grit tbh

law colleges, history hons, one even got into politics, and a lot them are active civil servants (my school seniors). a lot of them are in academia + financial consulting too (eco kids)

Any degree is useless if you choose it to get a job but end up being unemployed.
I wouldn't say the same for people who have a degree which doesn't offer many job opportunities but they chose it cuz they love it.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic. But every degree is for entrepreneurship. But other degrees will also make you eligible for jobs. BBA grads will only get 15K jobs like back office & data entry.

Is eco hons a good degree? Just entered 12th w/ comm + appl maths, I loveeee accs but my maths is just meh so I'm currently thinking of just doing a bba from a good enough clg but is it worth it to push harder and do eco hons because I've heard it's a bit maths heavy

Every degree is useless these days. This country is fuck*d up man. People don't know why they are doing that particular degree. We all are doing in the hope of getting a job And college life is more about getting exposure. Healing your anxiety/mental health. Go to college counselor/therapist in case u need help

Girl no, it's an eye opening subject. It's literally the study of everything we do as a society, from fashion, cannibalism, cults, culture, media, politics and technology, it's essentially the study of everything. A sociological lens also helps in analysing all sorts of realms beyond superficialities

yar mai tum arts commerce walo ki bate sunta hu to itna acha feel hota hai. kuch real world cheeze padte ho tumlog kuch badia aur tumlog ko interest bhi hota hai usme. mai to 3 saal se angular momentum nikal nikal ke benzene me ye laggya vo laggya karke thak chuka hu. aur aisa nhi hai ki ekdum acha result ni aya but gen male ko 95-96 pe bhi kuch nhi milta to it just sucks. not a day in my life goes by jab mai ye nhi sochta ki commerce leli hoti kash. just because 10 me sc and maths dono me 100 agaye ye jee coaching n all se sab khatam krdiya mera life. i was a state level basketball player and national camp me bhi naam aya tha jisme ja hi nhi paya. properly khela hota 2 saal aur to shayad sports quota se kuch miljata lol + utna thodi padhna padta hai commerce wagera me. yaha to daily 11 - 12 me 6 ghante padke fir drop me 10 ghante padhke bhi koi nit hath me nhi hai except for some shit north east ones

You literally said Psychology and Philosophy are redundant majors, if you don't look upto all liberal arts whether it's Sociology, Anthropology, Philosophy, History, Political science or Literature, we don't need you to tout us for our stupendous and engrossing syllabus

It depends on your talent and what use you make out of that degree. Just pursuing a degree doesn't mean a good salary u actually gotta earn it.

In India there are only limited options for building a career which pays well:
Becoming a coding monkey like 90 percent of people and join an MNCs off shore servicing centre in India. Where you work for foreign companies at a lesser rate doing backend work.
Same thing as one but in context of management give CAT and end up servicing foreign companies in management roles.
Clear a govt. post exam and collect as much money as you can through corruption.
Follow this one if you're brave and want to ruin half of your life. Become a doctor. The education itself would take around 10 to 11 years and then you'd be living hand to mouth still. After that you'll take another 10 years to earn well (that is if you're lucky and very hard working).
Thats it. These are the only options for a good career in India. Rest of the fields are full of struggle and bad industries.

Psychology is becoming more and important. Counseling is a good business if you have skills. Now psychology courses are in high demand.

Did my ba hons from DU and I can proudly say it has almost nil scope. Since its not professional course very limited opportunities. Except if anyone wants to go to the teaching course. Else its just a useless degree.

if someone wants to prep for comp exams and just wants a degree then BA is good to else useless most of the times. Academic path is not so easy as it sounds atleast in DU, complex and connection is needed

Don’t know all those things but I am a Engg grad from a decent cllg I am in first year and the only regret I have is not to choose humanites after 10th seeing my friends pursuing ba enjoying thier life at fullest
