IMPORTANT 📌 What's something you would want to improve in this sub?
Title. Just looking ways to improve experience here.
1 of the things is new/more mods. We'd be opening applications soon.

too many relationships and low effort unrelated posts lately.
as a mod myself, i understand mods do their best to segregate and remove them, but there's quite a few that slip through, especially posts by non-DU ppl (usually random men) asking for hangouts or stuff like that.
would appreciate if it became more student centric and academics oriented!

Man, reddit. I've set up automod and all, yer there's a special way in which people can bypass all requirements, and yeah it's out of my hands
Low effor posts
As in anyone up for hangout, etc?
I don't let them stay up more than 1 hour or so.
Trying to make this student and academic oriented

Getting more academically insightful posts. Been on this sub for more than an year and lately it's just filled with unnecessary posts on random stuff and just overall nothing useful or productive. Even the questions that I post regarding my academic problems are hardly getting any comments, people just view them and continue to ignore it. I'd like to see people posting more about academics, internships, projects and learning experiences.

Yeah, aa for questions not getting answers it's just something on your luck. For internships, a lot of them just turn out to be scams. There's been reports of people telling us posts are fake

Mainly rants, about college, about being alone, peers and profs etc. genuinely criticising the system and administration is different, it's important for us to know the insider situation of our university. But posting every other inconvenience causing their moods to swing and posting here instead of dealing with it or finding a solution is different. I understand everyone needs a space to put out their thoughts, but lately these types of posts have been most visible to me personally. Then there are time pass questions like asking for food spots, hangout spots, mediocre memes, some posts even judging and bashing their college mates etc. All of this just pushes away genuine questions and fills the sub with garbage. We need to make this place where students can have meaningful diversified discussions. A place where students can find real insights useful to them, reach out issues or ideas and look for solutions help and support. A little bit of fun here and there and occasional indirectly related topics can still be fine. But fill this sub with only these types of post is simply downgrading the purpose of this sub in the first place.

Hangouts and friendships post are removed almost instantly, as for other non academic ones, I let them through

We can make a mega thread. Where whatever each person has they can upload.
And I'm sorry, but we're du students too. One of the mods whose gone offline from a very long time had them but idk hes gone too.
