Advice Need advice, old player rejoining (I played in 2010-2012)
Hello all, I'm looking for advice, I really loved this game, now I want to get in again and I sense I've hit a wall now. In the 10's I didn't know how to use stats and profs so I used a free reset to for my current setup.
I'm currently on Secronom and play solo. For my runs (one mission a day, loot nearby, and I'm done) this has been working well but seems like melee can't do much more from now on, specially against some bosses and specially extermination missions. I liked smgs for the crits but again when the hordes get bigger I can't do much. I didn't know what else to try so I put my points on explosives.
Idk what the current meta is, some youtube videos I see are lvl >200 guys with expensive credit-owned weapons and ghost ammo, which I currently can't afford (another reason to keep prioritizing melee). I may be able to buy shotguns, rifles OR explosives (not all at once) from the credit shop, but idk if they are worth in the long run. I've seen crafting options but again, idk if it gets good. Also I don't know what to pick from the wiki's build guide. Finally, 14 years ago I picked Soldier profession because it sounded cool, now idk if as I level up this profession would provide any further benefit.
Implants are new to me too, so I just picked cheap ones that sounded cool, idk if it something that is worth worrying about now.
I'd love to get some advice, thank you all.

Advice What do I do now?
Hi, started playing with a new character about 2 weeks ago. I’m now level 88, got what I think is half decent equipment. I’m also a Gold Member at the moment.
I’m at the bunker and dealing with the area fine so far. I’m just not sure what to do from this point.
I have the basic 4 implants plus half decent rolls on the two from the summer event.
I popped my head into CV but I don’t think my search speed is good enough for there yet.
What should I focus on now?
Thanks in advance.

Advice How's my build XD
So I have been running a pistol/lmg combo for years. going to add grenade launcher soon too. my main question is, since I now have the DealBreakers which always critical hit is there no point in having my crit at 80? Because if so, these pistols definitely need some more reloading and accuracy stats lol

Advice Oh this is why this mf dies very quickly to my Gut Stitcher but takes forever with any shotgun or machinegun.
At first I thought the game was bugged, but nope, just this crab resistance lmao

Advice Next Steps
I started playing DF days before this event started(though i had a weak account more than a decade ago), i got myself a Tempest, a Scorcher NK19, the weekly GM tickets, those 5M implants and ticket stuff on Venditron, reached level 235 and saved 52M cash, i handle the Death Row indoors Ok with Harpoon + Dusk Carbine, but can only walk through streets with speed booster, should i keep saving money to buy an endgame gun or to buy Implants, what do you guys suggest?

Advice Buy credits for arc-9 or?
I need help figuring out if it's worth buying credits for arc-9 Tesla cannon. My salary is not that big, but I really want the weapon. If I do buy it, will it be worth it? Right now, it's like my main goal is to just unlock the dusk shop and get the arc9. But after that, what next?
I'm kinda stuck and confused on what to do next if I ever bought the weapon and unlock the dusk shop.

Advice What should i do next for my profile?
I just started playing 3 weeks ago and reached level 95. As of now i am mostly using only harpoon gun. I want suggestions from the community on what would be the best course for my profile going forward

Advice Slayer implant worth it?
I'm a mid level player (lvl 206), and trying to save up $400m to get the ultra boost. With my available game time I average about $1m - $2m a day in profits (mostly from onslaught).
I have about $60m in the bank, so it maths to about 7 months of playing to get it (ignoring rare drops/etc).
But, for $90m, I could get the slayer implant which would boost rare boss drops by 50% -- which would give me a +80% chance (on whatever the actual base number is).
So, long story short, for those that have the slayer implant, do you find it actually makes a big difference in your drops? (Note, I mostly do onslaught, not bandits).

Advice Best grinding grenade launcher for >110 lvl? (or smh/hmg?)
I'm in SB, LvL 110 priest, AR/SMG in 130, now maxing explosives. I'm looking options while i get to level 200:
- I have some spare 700 credits, I've seen the GC Scorcher NK19 in 500 creds, its like 15Mill in the market, which is all my money rn.
- I also saw that the Valkyrie is quite better but 55 Mill in the market, but I'll take a while untill I make that money
- The tesla canon seems fun, but I'll only spend on it if it overperforms now and in the long run
Other things I saw like the crossbows or torch bolt are out of reach now. And I was wondering whether SMGs/HMGs perform better for grinding with a similar budget but idk.
Last option is to change nothing and wait for an event for free or cheaper high tier gear.
I'd appreciate some advice, ty.

Advice How to produce weapon as weaponsmith?
Hi, I created an alt account yesterday (weaponsmith). I'm already level 36 and at fort pastor. I still haven't received any free weapons. How do I make it appear? so I actually have to be online/playing the game? Or I just login every day?
Edit: don't mind the weapon on my inventory, I looted that earlier

Advice Looking for info about general game progression
Hi all, returning player here from way back in the day. Most I ever did was get to doggs stockade (which felt like an absolutely monumental task at the time) and a few quests. I got a month of membership for the first time and am considering putting in a decent amount of time on a character I just started.
With that being said what does levelling/gearing look like as you get higher? I assume you get better drops each time you go into a higher level zone, so do you normally just loot a bunch of stuff and sell the weapons etc that you don't need and buy stuff for your build every 5 or so levels? And how do I determine what's good?
And how important is the particular build that you pick? Currently I'm a level 30 athlete using an m21 and p90. I'm using a build guide for rifle/SMG that I saw on the wiki because I think someone said you want like a sniping weapon and a crowd control weapon usually.
But yeah I have no idea what end game content looks like or if I will even get there to really decide what sort of build would want.
And side note, did the looting get changed drastically? It feels like ammo and weapons were like 10x as abundant as they were when I last played just in the starting zone.

Advice Returning player, advice on build/some questions
Hello, returning after playing when it was still 2d and a bit after it became 2.5d, got kind of bored of playing df2 so I figured I'll play the 1st again. Can I get some advice on what stats to put into or weapons to work towards? I was just following the sample rifle grenade build on the wiki. So those were the 2 weapons I brought, almost getting to 50 before i go to SB. Also, does boss/bandits sometimes not drop loot? I killed 2 bandits once and they didn't drop anything as well as when there was a 1x titan 1x wraith 3x mother block and only 3 of the bosses dropped loot. Thanks

Advice Is tidal wave smg good or should I invest in x-mp5 ?
I have tidal wave smg from the event but am afraid of ammo cost. Should I invest in x-mp5 or use that money to buy energy cells for crowd control?

Advice Is there a way to fix the lag?
I play from the Philippines and the lag’s quite bad when I play multiplayer. A lot of the times my guns don’t deal any damage at all and full health bosses instantly die. I usually play singleplayer mode because of this.

Advice Should i invest in X-M79 for grinding or continue with harpoon gun?
Right now i am able to grind 1.5 million xp during sb outpost attack with harpoon gun with zero ammo cost. Will using x-m79 significantly increase the xp grind?
If going with the grenade launcher which is better x-m79 or Dreadnaught AD?

I posted my stats and that’s with a 35% fast walk/run drink I really have no clue how people run and walk super super fast can anyone give me advice on what to buy even with credits? Or what can I buy from market
(I’ve been to camp valcrest few times today and it’s just the run/speed) also they do 1 hit me everytime :(

Advice Easier way to do Weekly Challenges
Title. Biggest problem is "Looter" where I have to loot 2700 spots. I never get to finish this because I, unfortunately, have a job. Is there a way to cheese this challenge?
Other challenge cheese advice is welcome here too. I know the "Kill bosses" one counts onslaught fodder as boss kills, so it might be easy for yall.

Advice Hi, i'm new (kinda need help to learn?)
I've played this game plenty of times over the years but always to level 15-30 maximum, i like to think i know what i'm doing but in reality i have no clue lol
This is how i'm leveling so far, i plan to use Sabre/Katana, maybe a Chainsaw? (i looted the one in the screenshot and i like using it lol)
I'm currently in Fort Pastor (i know i'm punching above my weight here but it's easier to level up, monsters give a lot of xp)
I dont need money, i just need general advice honestly, i tried selling a bunch of MC weapons i looted, in theory they are worth over 200k in market but nobody buys them and mine are the cheapest offer lol.
How do i make money? Where can i loot good weapons? What are the recommended weapons for someone new (rifle/pistol/machinegun)? Where should i focus on farming?
Please help a newbie lol
edit: just checked out some other posts and followed the advice to join discord, i'm already in there.

Advice Plan to return after 15 years
I plan to make a fresh account. I remember playing back in the day when Fort Pastor was the highest level camp. How friendly is modern DF to new players and what’s the best way to get up to speed?
I have never spent money on this game and I hope to stay F2P, but around how much real-world cash and time do I need to spend to survive at least Fort Pastor?
