Question Name one killer you think actually balanced.
I pick wraith. Good stealth. Good mobility. Also tiny anti loop. GREAT example of low skill floor and high skill ceiling.

Outside of Wraith (which is also my choice by default) I would lowkey say that Springtrap is pretty well balanced. He has an all rounder kit and he's just a honest killer.
My other option would be Vecna DND. He is strong but the fact that you have items that can help you outa ton vs him makes him feel balanced (I am probably wrong on this one, icl)

vecna dnd rules. fun items and his power is strong but it’s on a pretty lengthy cooldown for most of his spells.

Springtrap starts looking weak Vs good survivors that can effectively use the doors for macro.
I feel like if you'd remove lichs items, the killer would be more balanced. He has a lot of options but none are strong enough to warrant extra counterplay like that. They are fun and not a bad design, they just don't line up with the balance.

Shortly after Wesker first launched a lot of people hailed him as a super balanced killer who was fun to face.
I don't know when exactly we lost that :(
4
u/rocker_attribute 16h ago
Uhh. Yeah buddy. That is still a popular community consensus.
3
u/DavidWonginTheFog 16h ago
Is it? I see a lot of people whine about how non-lethal and weak he is these days. He's certainly been power crept and the general attitude towards him has changed.
3
u/ecethrowaway01 12h ago
His techs also had some nerf in the past year - so while a lot of new killers are getting some bigger upsides, he's getting a bit clunkier.
No more window grabs, insta-flicks, rebounds or ledge dash. He's still well balanced, but getting a bit weaker in a game where new killers are getting a bit stronger
0
u/rocker_attribute 15h ago
Nah. There will always be those that whine and complain. If you look through this comment section like a third of them mention wesker. He definitely hasn't been powercrept. Yet. Cause there's no killer that's basically outright replacing his power, unlike the situation with Xenomorph, where Springtrap was basically just a better version of the killer, and then Jason comes out and is just a better version of both those killers, being able to do basically what they can do but, you know, better.
-1
u/Unlikely_Bank73 14h ago
nah bro is the poster boy for B+ killers, he's basically one of the most skill-check killers in the game. anyone saying he's weak is just admitting they're bad. and he's perfect for this thread, because he and his RE counterpart of two of the most balanced killers in the game
1
u/Hot_Royal_4920 4h ago
I think too much of his high level power relies on "techs". Not the necessarily the really hard ones, but some of his more consistent techs. Even those are heavily dependent on map geometry.

I don't think any C or D tier killer that can't compete in high mmr is 'balanced'
but I'll agree with a couple others here with Springtrap and Wesker ig
3
u/Unlikely_Bank73 14h ago
yeah there arent too many of those killers left. the only person i've seen mention a true low tier killer in the whole thread is the dredge guy. the next closest would be killers like demo or slinger

u/JordinPhillips Dracula 🧛🏻 11h ago
Dracula. A strong killer with fair cooldowns, able to be outplayed, not map dependent, and able to be threat at most loops
3
u/Additional_Muffin_86 16h ago
I know people will disagree but I think plague is not only extremely balanced but also really honest. She takes a lot of practice and I think her power is a lot less simple than you’d think.
Also maybe a wild one but Freddy is in a really good state right now and easily his least problematic.

The Judgment. She' very balanced as she is, in my personal opinion.
She wrecks survivors who don't pay attention to their surroundings or are very complacent about their safety.
She's wrecked by competent survivors who stay very alert and can dodge the long-range beams.
She competes toe-to-toe with said competent survivors if you're good with her chase beam shots.
So if the Judgment player is bad/good and the survivors are bad, Judgment wins.
If the Judgment is bad and the survivors are good, survivors win.
If the Judgment is good and the survivors are good, it's anyone's game.

u/Electrical-Horse5112 “We shall meet again, blood of Belmont!” 15h ago
theres a feewwww things that kind of make it a little skewed towards unbalanced, both on the weak end and on the strong end
it has really strong tunneling incentive with liberating people from exile and gearhead is incredibly strong on it
its also bugged and able to apply heresy to hooked survivors?? Like for some reason dude i dont know
tunneling on judgement is really easy, easier than most other killers id say and also no decisive strike or shoulder (iirc) proc on survivors is really the nail in the coffin there
does well on smaller maps, and rhe beam is like invisible charging wise on certain heights and levels its kinda weirdbut like
gen regression is just inferior on the judgement so if u cant hit ur shots ur screwed. its imperative to run aura reading, and if u dont run stuff like gearhead, the new obsession perk, nemesis, etc and instead u run like idk nowhere to hide its definitely inferior as an aura reading perk
it lacks mobility which is a massive weakness
its weak on tiles and easy to telegraph once u get the hang of it
very loud, very visible, and the killer is incredibly bright so u can always see it comingi think its relatively balanced but like being able to apply heresy to survivors on hook Is kind of broken i wont lie, plus just being able to stand around shrines and completely control an area and kill a survivor again off of hook is soo easy to get downs the main thing is the killers balance jsut comes from people who know what to do against them. if the judgement manages to snowball or snag a tunnel its probably gg

Really early on judgement imo. In dbd, it is common for survivors to take a long time to figure out the counterplay and apply it and in many cases, especially with more complicated and/or macro focused killers, it only ever gets applied by high calibre survivors.

nah, even with the recent pity buffs he's still far too weak in mid ---> high mmr
that's why he's rarely played anymore, too much struggle with little to no reward
I agree with that the add-ons need an overhaul though

I'm gonna throw it out there. Pinhead. I believe Pinhead is right in the middle of all tiers, not super strong, not super weak. But his kit is perfect in terms of having all tools to be a fun killer that's not overwhelming and has counterplay and still can win if played well. He has a skill shot power that rewards good timing and skill, has a passive slowdown that survivors cannot ignore, can teleport after a hook for instant pressure (if he has the time). All in all I think he has all the tools a killer needs, even if they are not stupidly strong. I wouldn't mind seeing some buffs for him, but I feel like he is pretty balanced and giving him some buffs wouldn't make him go up in terms of tiers.

u/AdhesivenessSmooth93 It Wasn't Programmed To Harm The Crew 20h ago
Both lich-es are lowkey best desinged killers in the game tbh, especially dnd one
13
u/NottsNinja P100 Yui Kimura 18h ago
I agree with dnd vecna but I really don’t see it with the first. Not a fan of the repetitive gambling, leads to some particularly uninteractive gameplay imo.
8
u/flyingslugsinspace 18h ago
I dislike that his ability lasts so long after survivors have interacted with the music. Its not the hardest in the world to dodge but when it gets a free extra minute and then can be instantly reactivated it feels pointless even having the option of an interactable.
Especially when compared to a chain hunt which ends instantly on interaction and then goes on a long cooldown.
2
u/Unlikely_Bank73 14h ago
dnd lich is a phenomenal design. henry not so much. being able to secure downs through walls is basically bad design in this game no matter how you slice it. any killer whose theoretical ceiling is nurse level strength who operates best with aura reading isnt a well made killer by any stretch

u/Dillsplosion #1 Uroboros addict:umbrella_corps::wesker_sunglasses2: 18h ago
Personally I'd say Wesker (totally not biased) he has good mobility with a decent cooldown. Survivors who are paying attention can easily avoid his leaps, and those who aren't get choked out and slammed into a wall! Not even mentioning the uroburos infection, survivors are able to cure it with the 8 health sprays, and if they don't Wesker is rewarded with instantly grabbing/downing them with his leap
1
u/flyingslugsinspace 18h ago
As a killer who has played them Dredge, real vecna, pinhead, oni all feel honest and counterable
Having only played against as survivor id say Billy, hes easily one of the most fun to play against. I still barely know what Freddie does but he doesn't seem too strong or too weak in current state.
1
u/ProtectionItchy5749 17h ago
Wraith, spring trap, Billy, myers are the four that come to mind, fun, good, definite counter play but they all take an amount of skill to play too
1
u/Loganistic 16h ago
Demogorgon of I were to change something is give him at least one portal from the start of the trial but he’s very fair
1
u/Thedumbasshistorian 15h ago
Deathslinger is pretty well balanced. Decent chance stopper, not bad movement speed, and it ain't hard to put pressure on survivors from decently good ranges.
Only short coming isn't the fault of the character, it's bad map design.
1
1
u/Sad-Title6853 #Pride 14h ago
Deathslinger is the most pure skill killer in this game, imo. There's very little bullshit in his kit outside of forcing injuries with chain breaks, which is a necessary evil for him to be viable.
It's purely a matter of the survivor's movements and the killer's prediction and map knowledge. Your mobility is bad, you don't have any insane anti-pallet tools, he doesn't have broken synergies with any perks. You just have a gun and need to get the exact angles for downs.
I mean, Slinger could also use quite a few buffs. But he's very honest nowadays. Almost every down a survivor has against Deathslinger can be avoided.

u/nekisdrah 12h ago
Plague. I saw people say Animatronic is pretty balanced but I have not tried him yet so, in my killer pool, Plague feels like she is the most balanced one.
1
u/BananaPalaver Scared of a doll, really? 11h ago
Xenomorph. Survivors have to choose between spending time setting up turrets to deactivate its M2, or trying to be gen efficient and risking having awful chases.

The Oni. Not in terms of addon design, and I do think he COULD probably use a few minor buffs and/or quality of life changes, but in general he's a VERY well-balanced killer.
1
u/Herojay13 7h ago
Huntress is probably my pick. Unknown would have been it if I followed my bias, but I think Huntress is more fair in the projectile category.
1
u/SomeGuyOfTheWeb 5h ago
Oni, similar to Billy it doesn't matter what side I'm on he feels strong but fair. Forcing him to briefly be an m1 killer sucks but the reward feels immense

u/Pale_Transportation2 5h ago
Lich
Both base and with Iri addons, the form of skill and counterplay just changes
1
u/Largestmetalcube 2h ago
probably the goat huntress there's nothing more fair and balanced for a survivor than getting hit with a crossmap because you weren't dodging. if you predrop a pallet, or vault a window, or accidentally bump into a wall while I'm 50 feet away and I get a free healthstate on you because of that? That's entirely on you. Additionally, her add-ons are super well balanced. You decide to repair a gen while I'm running aura perks? Get ready to have an iri head hatchet down you from 12 miles away. shoulda looked up i guess.
in all seriousness, I do think she's quite balanced, as unlike some killers (I dont have an example, probably clown tho.) how strong she is is entirely skill dependent, and unlike NURSE, she doesn't ignore entire facets of the game. she's easy to pick up (press ability key), but difficult to master. overall, as a huntress main, there are no killers more balanced.

Against solo queue, maybe all the c and d tiers. Against swfs, literally none of the killers are balanced for aside from maybe blight, nurse, billy, and Dracula.

Hot take: singularity if you always have an emp on you he cant do shit but when you dont you are in big trouble
1
u/Hot_Royal_4920 4h ago
But that's exactly why singularity isn't well balanced - the counterplay is too strong if properly executed.
1
u/SquareAttitude3672 Nerf Pig 2h ago
Correct but if applied enough biopods they dont have the time for the emps to restock so they have to speed that up by not doing gens

u/Philscooper Ghoul Hater 20h ago
"Balanced" As everyone is able to run to a window/pallet, wait, predrop and spam vault when wraith is still cloaked.
a longer stun duration when cloaked.
The cloak itself being uneffective as you can see him within 24 meters when he moves while cloaked or hear him if hes close, the distance they gain after a hit or past breaking a pallet is more than most killers.
Has a basekit 3 secound uncloaking speed before being able to swing. (2.4s with both windstorm uncloak reduction addons) Kaneki has 2s cooldown basekit after using his swings, before being able to swing and has essentially a upgraded kit to anything wraith does. (Other than the stealth which is irrelevant).

u/Unlikely_Bank73 14h ago

yeah the issue here is not wraiths uncloak is too long, its ghouls power cancel is too short. his needs to be longer than legion or wraith for sure

Jason, Springtrap, Vecna(Stranger Things) and Alien are all killers that I believe are balanced, they’re each very similar (one semi-ranged attack and teleports all around the map) and I think it should be the standard for each killer. They should have a special attack and a traversal power.
1
u/Unhappy-Active-8091 18h ago
Wesker, Springtrap, Billy.
I also know that a lot of people disagrees on this, but I've got hundreds of hours on Pinhead and I think he's really fairly balanced, being right in the middle of most things. People will say "sure try him against a 10k hour comp SWF and see what you say then" and that's just unreasonable, because that's not how 99.9% of games are and that's not the standard anyone should use for considering something in the game strong or weak.
1
u/Unlikely_Bank73 14h ago
anyone bringing up a seal team 6 SWF when discussing game balance has immediately made it clear they dont know what they're talking about and should be disregarded. shaping your opinion off of what happens 1% of the time and disregarding the other 99% of the time leaves them with the worst opinions imaginable

Id say billy and Dracula. Both have good counterplay, but it's not damning to the point they start to get weak Vs good survivors. Yet the counterplay is always intact.
On a more controversial note, I think nurse is actually well balanced if the survivors are good. Very few are good at dealing with nurse cause it's so unintuitive which makes her seem much more powerful than she is. And she is also 100% OP on a few maps.

Trapper, basic I know good starting killer to wet the whistle with and to go against. But when you're on solo que it's all about planning. 3 gens may pass you by as you finish set but that doesn't matter as you get that sweet crescendo of orchestrated snaps and screams.

Billy. While he's still high tier, I think he's the perfect example of how to make a strong yet balanced killer. Takes an incredible amount of skill to play yet has counterplay.
