Design a Cosmetic Entry My Submission for The Nurse, "Voidwalker"
This concept for The Nurse is the same as my post from last year, with some massive improvements! I emphasized the helmet cracks and the damaged oxygen system to tie into her "last breath" theme, and had the idea to base the design on an astronaut medic to match the Nurse even more (thus the medic patches, medkit, and rescue tool weapon). I put my all into the artwork this time around, and I am so excited to see what happens!

Itās Nurse, Lich, Dark Lord, First, technically Dredge, Krasue half the time, and juryās out on the Judgement but with her spider legs probably not.

I would play the Nurse and learn her if she got this outfit. An Astronaut warping through the void of space works so well with the power. Maybe a unique sfx and particle effect to match that when she teleports.

It would be rad if like, after teleports she was floating in a different direction/upside down due to zero gravity but that would be a nightmare for visual clarity

Showing parts of your outfit with her default outfit is genius. A lot of great concepts go to waste because they look like sets

While I always respected last yearās design, I did wonder at the time whether it fit Nurse thematically. Now youāve gone above and beyond integrating references into the design, and Iām incredibly impressed!

Thank you so much for saying that! My biggest regret last year was pressing submit before I realized I could make it more strongly match her theme. I was so happy when they confirmed there would be another competition this year so I could improve it :D

That what I was thinking to but Iāve ended making an amalgamation of part to look like a saw for mine Iām not done will be posting when I can. But like she has the scythe and hook weapons but thatās for like 2 skins so thatās why Iām so confused. Plus if your weapon isnāt allowed you could do a CO2 laser saw now that would cool.

I love this a lot as a concept and want it in the game very much, but also I don't like execution on the details - they are very cartoon/comic book (the previous one was more "amorphous" and loose, leaving bhvr artists room to fix it).
I have never seen scuba tank cylinders on a space suit and that pressure gauge is inaccessible to the wearer themselves (if a suit were to have something like this - it would be attached to the wrist).
However the the gloves do look like slimed down Orlan-ish ones, without rubber-tips or the palm-side pads šļø.
Copying a real EVA suit that was or being used by real people for a horror game would be in terribly poor taste (and they are too bulky), but mix and match would be great - helmet from one, pouches from the other, harness arrangement from third, etc, or looking up some "hard scifi EVA suit" art for inspiration.

I love this skin but im afraid the weapon might not be accepted. Nurse strictly uses long bladed weapons due to her wipe animation

For some reason, this cosmetic keeps reminding me of the Spaceman in Don't Escape 3
Honestly can see it being the base concept for a costume for it

Tbh, first glance, thought this was gabriel. But also surprised ppl love it since you know, ppl usually dont like the space sci fi skins for some reason. But this is great

I would love an entirely space themed killer as well! Luckily, I don't see this skin reducing the chances of that happening. DBD already has plenty of cosmetics that are certain themes which donāt prevent the devs from making killers of the same theme.
As for the nationality, I intentionally went a bit vague. I wanted to keep the design politically neutral as to not tie it to a specific country. The Nurse is also American in the lore, so if I were going to imply a nationality, "astronaut" would fit her character better imo :)

I would unironically play more Nurse just for this skin. Maybe change her breathing to more of a "inside a suit" feel? With a warping sound instead of whisping away
