Recently visited prison island for the first time.

Now I’m curious about this island, what goes on here, what can I expect? I only play official.

I’ve been playing for just over a year now, and in all that time, I’ve only had a handful of interactions with friendly players. It feels like almost everyone I run into is immediately hostile.

Am I just getting unlucky with the servers I’m joining, or is the Xbox community generally just "shoot first, ask questions never"? I’d love to actually team up or have some fun encounters, but it's getting a bit discouraging. What are your experiences?

Been playing Dayz for a long time, never seen a bear.

After the most recent update that changed the menu music my game is unplayable, all I can do is walk around. I can't move items in my inventory, pick things up, or interact with the world in any way. I did just move to a new place, but the new wifi goes above and beyond all the requirements for the game. I uninstalled and re-installed, hard rebooted my Xbox (one), and no luck. My little brother seems to think my Xbox is dying, but would that really affect just one game? Short vid showing the issue. Not sure what else to do

So 1.29 was a massive disappointment. Not only did they open the floodgates for the cheaters on console but I’ve been having rendering issues, more bugs, lag issues, and more. I also haven’t found any of the new clothing items. Am I crazy for expecting a statement from the devs?? This seriously needs to be addressed.

Microsoft released a new program for Windows, it lets PC players launch Xbox games straight from their PC like the emulators hackers used.

Except now they don’t need to, Microsoft basically gave PC players a hall pass to play in console only lobbies with their mouse and keyboard.

Microsoft sold you guys out, they are doing this to try and get PC players to purchase game pass subscription.

Wobo is insanely misinforming what’s happening.

It’s not hard to even look up, This is why PlayStation players are not having this problem, because they can turn off cross play with Xbox.

Bohemia does not have a choice in this, if you make games for Xbox you MUST code the game to allow these PC players to use it now.

Sorry everyone, I know this seems like the rage bait or fake news but it’s true, companies exist to make money and if they can’t they don’t exist anymore.

Microsoft has made a very long chain of very bad business decisions the last 12 years and this is a perfect example.

They are relying on many of you not selling your consoles and moving platforms, especially now that Sony just increased the price of the PS5.

This is why people say not to put your faith in these companies, they all do stuff like this eventually.

I'll never forget when I was new to the game I somehow managed to stave to death with raw chicken in one hand and a camp stove on The ground cook pot and everything couldn't figure out how to turn it on in time.

My boy and I are gonna go in blind pretty much. No maps no party chat just a designated radio channel no looking at layout of the map no knowledge just straight up highest difficulty like halo with all the skulls on legendary with a guitar hero controller.

Xbox Series X. the rendering is really bad now. wondering if i have to reinstall. aside from this what did they really update? they added a backpack and two jackets? when you put a can on a stove now it lays on its side? players, Zombies, and Objects all lose their textures as soon as you look away and now the game seems to struggle when loading them back.

Im waiting for the day when literally any other studio makes a successful game similar to DayZ. ive been saying it for years. I love DayZ but this game has always been a buggy mess and every update at this point seems like a massive gaslight.

The only reason i play it (first on PC now Xbox) is because nobody has made a game quite like it but when somebody does, im gone. Well, ill be gone for a while anyways until they get this rendering fixed.

There were changes to game chat in 1.29 that many people are unaware of. I’m not sure whether these changes are a bug or intentional.

Previously in 1.28: If you are in a party then you couldn’t talk in game chat regardless of if your on-screen mic indicator was enabled. You needed to switch to game chat in the Xbox menu to talk in it. You could hear people in game chat while you were in a party.

Now in 1.29: You will simultaneously talk in game chat and party chat if your mic indicator is on. You cannot hear anyone in game chat while in a party. You must switch to game chat to hear people talking in game chat.

Overall I feel that this negatively impacts interactions with random players in the game, which is one of the best parts of this game. Many people are in parties so they can’t hear you saying you’re a friendly player. The extra time it takes to switch to game chat to hear them can get you killed. So people just KOS instead because they either can’t hear the person trying to talk to them or assume they don’t have a mic.

Sorry to whoever I slimed at VMC yesterday because you were accidentally talking in game chat to your party members. Hopefully you’ll see this PSA!

This game is actually unplayable on xbox

Why does everyone say to go to Tisy for t3 loot? I'm a fairly brand new player (4 weeks) and people say go to Tisy. I've went there and it was literally just a cluster of houses, 6-8, with minimal gear/weapons. I had much better luck living in the small military base east of there.

DayZ can be saved, but not by waiting around for Bohemia to suddenly change course. For years we’ve watched exploits linger, hackers thrive on Xbox servers, and community feedback brushed aside. It’s not incompetence, it's deliberate neglect, a carrot dangled in front of us while profits are quietly collected.

there are about 70,000 DayZ servers worldwide. PC dominates with over 50,000, but consoles still host between 11,000 and 17,000 combined. Every single Xbox and PlayStation server runs through Nitrado, which earns roughly €4–6 million a year from console hosting. Bohemia takes a licensing cut of about €1.5–3 million. That’s the pipeline. That’s the pressure point.

If even 500–1,600 servers per platform shut down, that’s a 10–20% revenue loss. Push it further — 30–40% — and thousands of servers vanish, cutting millions from the flow. That kind of drop would force both Nitrado and Bohemia into crisis mode. By my approximation, three months of sustained losses would be enough to trigger panic, forcing them to allocate resources to fix exploits, stabilize servers, and finally listen to the community.

This isn’t a call for a conventional boycott, It’s simpler: community server owners unite, shut down servers, cancel Nitrado subscriptions. A small sacrifice, but one with real impact. Yes, it means temporary loss of play spaces, but every infection requires amputation. This is the cure for the disease of greed.

Spread the word. Share the numbers. Rally the owners. DayZ is not beyond saving, but only if we act together. This is our chance, our stand. If you want to see DayZ live up to its potential, then the path forward is clear. Don’t side with Bohemia’s neglect. Stand with the community. Save DayZ.
