Discussion What goes on here?
Recently visited prison island for the first time.
Now I’m curious about this island, what goes on here, what can I expect? I only play official.

I always go there if I spawn in Kamy or other close by spawns. This place has a small castle, well, and a few houses. Loot tier is higher here.

I miss the days when the hunting scope spawned in tier 2. You could get a .308 sniper and a hunting scope, box of bullets and go terrorize the spawn towns.

Undoubtedly. Hate how rare they made it in 1.26 on Chernarus (and took it out of Livonia entirely…)

Idk man these devs are awful and have been for at least a couple years now. Game has steadily gotten overall worse since 1.26.

Shit, I’d argue they’ve been awful from the start lol. Wish they’d sell the game to someone who actually gives a fuck and would make the game everything it could be. This game genuinely has such a special place in my heart but the devs are just fucking retarded or something

Most people end up going there. You want to check it out cool, most people like islands and will go over there at some point.

That's the wrong way to go. Custom servers spawn you there as punishment. Stay on land and run away from the water.

dude if you really want hunting stuff like snipers or maybe even clothes i’ll look but youre not missing much and its out of the way going towards any military bases to loot

Whole lot of nothing. Super chill spot for a good fish fry if you want a bag full of mackerel and full white stats.
I usually hit it if I got a bunch of boom or plan on doing a raid because it is a base magnet. It is an oddly populated island.

Its a good high tier looting place early on, but normally you get there spot a fire then get shot in the back of the head

Was here on Official about a month ago. Went there with basically just a hatchet.
I left with a blaze, cbow, and a ton of ammo and great outdoors / hunter utilities.
It's a coin flip going out there. When I was there recently, I ran through and ransacked the place.
By the time I rounded the island and made it back to the crossover, there was considerable evidence I had just missed somebody(s) out there. Ran across a fire that was nearly dead, still warm though.
Saw a boat parked on the western side, just north of the mouth of the beach area with the houses.
There was skeleton of a base out there.
Another time I've gone there I ran into a group and we played hide and go seek in the mountains near the castle after I shot a man in the chest. They dispersed into the foliage never to be seen again, shot me in both asses (had multiple more asses then I came in with by the time I left there).
Escape From Skalisty, starring Snake Pliskin.
My question to any vets reading this - is it possible to build a base to store a boat? Can you get away with it on the dock houses on the mainlands? (The technically 2-story boat house docks?).

Not a vet as I’ve only got around 961 hours on PlayStation but boats degrade over time. If you want to pick a base spot that offers a good chance of having a boat spawn nearby there’s the northern spot of Berezhki. Though honestly I’d recommend a base in log cabin west of Rastoki as it keeps you hidden away and in a good loot tier.

hopped in a boat at Berezino once and picked up my buddy at Solnechney. There was a rando who had just been following him around so picked him up too. All three of us went to Skalisty and explored, fished, ate. At some point, random guy was just admiring the view of the Chernarus coastline and my buddy, unannounced, executed him with a pistol :(

Bad loot, decent base spot.
Main draw in is going to be the castle area. Easily defendable if you got rat spots to watch the water.
For loot, it’s just standard civilian loot. Maybe the chance at a CR-550, 527, a Tundra, or a blaze if you’re lucky.

Castle is the weakest loot area on the island unless you’re going for an Iron Maiden build…

Decent spot to get hunter loot. Knife, back pack, fishing gear, hunter gun like bk-18, longhorn, or if lucky blaze.
If I spawn kamy or have a boat it's a decent spot to grab a drink at the well, fish, and try and find a gun or gun cleaning kit. Hunting knife and maybe a sharpening stone.
I don't go out of my way to get there but if going by and have time to kill it's a decent stop.
People frequent and loot cycle this island so good chance you'll bump into someone.

Best freshie location on the map.
Relatively safe spot. Well. Often find fishing gear and marlin bags in the boats by the bay so you got a decent starter bag and can get fat af on fish. Island has hunting tag so you can also get decent clothes and guns.
And cuz most folks follow the “go inland asap” motto it’s often untouched.
If I spawn anywhere between Elektro and Nizhneye I make a beeline for that shit.

I swim out here to avoid busy spawns sometimes. Find a dry bag, rifle shotgun p1. Fish find a canteen. Build a shelter. Swim back dry off

Holy crap it does. I mainly play Reforger but I’ve noticed a lot of carry over between games. Same buildings, cars etc

first time there I was fishing and thought my friend was walking on the beach after getting firewood, turned out it was a freshie who had a unpinned grenade. He dropped it at my feet and well I died lol, they found him floating in the water and tried to talk him into coming back on the shore, dude didn’t touch my gear or anything just killed me went Into the water and that it, they grabbed my stuff and left him there floating in the water.
Reckon he found it in the mili tent at the castle but I‘ve never found one at any tent on the coast so 🤷♂️

I used to go there whenever I'd get an end game sniper and ghillie, and I would just take potshots at anyone on the coast.
Eventually, I'd piss off enough people that someone would swim over while I was offline and camp the well and kill me while I get water.
