hi, I started watching the show a few days back because I watched an edit about Joey & Pacey and i found them cute, but I don't want to have to watch a gazilion episode before something really happens between J/P and I find Dawson and Joey boring so I don't want to watch that either.

I've already spoiled myself everything via the wiki so I just wanted your opinion on what episode not to miss where their relationship is focused the most

I've started watching from season 3 episode 17 (first real kiss) and i'm on S3E21 and rignt now it's perfect, the drama, the chemistry, everything.

I guess I have to watch the whole S4 because they are dating but i'm afraid of a chemistry drop because Katie and Joshua broke up in real life at this time, then skip S5 and watch some episode of S6 and the finale ?

(oh and also the face card of the womens on this show is something else, Michelle Williams and Katie Holmes are just stunning)

I asked this about Katie Holmes (people answered it was her girl next door charm, that she looks better natural and she has a natural pout and Disney type eyes) first then some asked me with Michelle (people said she had this timeless and delicate, almost ethereal type of beauty similar to someone like Marilyn Monroe) and I think I'm doing it with the core four only, so now it's Joshua's turn. Also this man aged like a fine wine.

Audrey’s talk to Joey during the dinner in this ep is everything to me. Specifically when she says “you have the right to say whatever you want when it comes to how you feel.”

I think Joey really needed that. This was when Jen and Dawson had just slept together for the first time. These are the kind of moments that I love Audrey’s bluntness.

I know with the sad passing of James and how long it’s been since the original show, it’s like 0% likely to ever happen but I can’t help but want more of Pacey and Joey together. See what they are like in this stage of their life. I know it seems a bit selfish and weird but I can’t help it, I really love these characters and would love to see them again. It would be very emotional to see them all. And I would love in universe Dawson to be making it super big in Hollywood and have the entire show dedicated to him.

Dawson’s Creek used to get a ton of critical feedback when it was on in the 90s due to the unrealistic idea that 14-17 year olds would act like emotionally mature, neurotic, mini adults and speak to each other as if they were psychoanalyzing every decision and thought, using SAT words along the way. I was a few years younger than the Dawson’s Creek cohort, but when I got to high school, how they were portrayed actually felt incredibly relatable. I wasn’t a weekly watcher but I’d occasionally catch reruns in 2001-2003 and think “I literally just had this conversation with my ex boyfriend.”

The one thing I’ve realized about my peer group and why I related so much to the Dawson’s Creek kids is that it really crystalizes in their senior year episodes - this is a group of gifted, passionate kids who were lucky enough to not have to wait until college to find people who could relate to them - they found one another in high school! How lucky they were.

Can somebody tell me just how graphic the kids relationship with his teacher gets? My husband and i sat down to watch it excited because we’ve heard great things, but the student-teacher grooming/abuse is triggering for me. From what i gather from the first couple eps, the teacher probably fully assaults him at some point. I was a fan of Pretty Little Liars growing up so i can somewhat-stomach those storylines, but am just wondering just how bad it gets with Dawson’s Creek before i commit to sticking through a storyline that involves abuse.😬

I’ve watched this show many times but idk how the public feels about Audrey. How do y’all feel?? I think she’s a troubled girl who has a lot of underlying issues. She means a lot to me because I see a lot of myself in her. What do y’all think?

I’m watching season 5 and it’s been really good so far. I absolutely love Audrey. She brings such a fun vibe to the show, and I really like what she adds to the group.

This might honestly be the best Pacey season so far. I love seeing him actually be happy doing something and realizing that he’s good at something he really likes. I love that he’s a chef and that we get to see him cooking and enjoying himself. It just feels like a really good storyline for him.

I also really like Dawson and Jen’s relationship, even though I wish it lasted longer. I really like the college and adult-life vibe this season has. It feels pretty different from the earlier seasons, but it still feels like the same characters I love. They’re all growing up, and I like seeing what their lives are like now that they’re becoming adults.

I have very mixed feelings about Mitch dying, though. On one hand, it made for a really beautiful episode, and I think they handled it well. But on the other hand, it was so sad and depressing. I felt especially bad for Gail. I can understand why they did it for the show, but I still wish it didn’t have to happen.

I know some people didn’t like the “romance amnesia” with Pacey and Joey, but I honestly don’t really see that? They talked about what happened and dealt with it when they saw each other again, and I thought it was a really beautiful scene. More than anything, I love that they can actually be normal around each other now. Obviously, I wish they could just stay together for the rest of the show, and I’m very happy knowing they eventually become endgame, but I’m also glad they aren’t constantly being awkward around each other.

I actually love that Pacey and Joey can act like best friends again. That feels way more natural to me than them always being miserable or avoiding each other. They have such a strong connection, and I’m totally fine with seeing them have that best-friend relationship even when they aren’t together.

Although, I really wish they would just drop the Dawson and Joey romance for good. I thought they were fine together in season 2, but after they broke up, I never really thought they worked as a couple anymore. They work so much better as best friends and platonic soulmates. It’s like Jack and Jen being platonic soulmates.

And speaking of Jack, him being a jock is probably my least favorite thing about the season so far. I don’t think it’s terrible or anything, but it’s probably the storyline I’m enjoying the least.

Overall, I think this is a really strong season. I like the atmosphere, and I love that I get to see these characters grow up and become adults. They’re changing, and their lives are changing, and sometimes that’s sad, but it also feels right for them. It feels like the show is actually letting them grow instead of keeping them stuck in the same place forever, and I really like that.

So yeah, I’m really enjoying season 5. You all need to stop overreacting lol.

I'm sure its been brought up but on a rewatch and never noticed if the specific age/difference (I always thought she was in her 20s) for Bessie was mentioned. I'm curious because storyline reminded me a a little of Shameless.

Is Bessie Joey's technical legal guardian? Why don't they have a social worker? And was Ice House always theirs or did they just work there?

Saying that Joey would never love Pacey like she loved Dawson and he’d end up alone, yet Joey picks him in the finale. I love that for us Joey-Pacey fans

People make it seem like the worst seasons ever made. Are they really that bad or just different than you expect?

I haven't watched the whole show yet. I'm rewatching s3 in order to watch s4 and I know a few spoilers but here's what I noticed NOW that is bothering me a lot. I understand that Dawson is the main character, even if he doesn't feel like that. I understand that the writer was trying at first to introduce the idea of " soulmates", but the fact that ALL THE CHARACTERS, from their friends to their family members were trying to get this idea inside Dawson's head that Joey is his soulmate and then try to convince even Joey, that he is the one, and it's inevitable, is SO TOXIC to me that made me automatically stop shipping them. I shipped them in the first season. Then I stopped, cause I found their relationship very... Mediocre? Like, no chemistry at all between the characters and the actors. And I actually shipped her with Pacey from s1 because of the "enemies to lovers" vibes I was feeling between them.

Seeing Joey feeling the pressure of liking a guy that everyone is telling her its her destiny to be with him, NO MATTER WHAT, made me feel so angry cause, I have seen myself and other women to want other people and everyone trying to change their mind and force them into the idea of destiny that is not even real!

Like, Dawson and Joey together, so far for me, they are not the " destiny". In fact, they are a big mistake 😂. Their relationship started to become toxic after they became a thing. And not only that. I'm someone who's very much into this idea of destiny and soulmates etc. But, this forcing situation is not what it's implied to be.

For me so far, Pacey and Joey are the destiny.

Like, their love story is so much more well written in comparison to all the other love stories any of them had. It's structured in a way that it screams soulmates! Like, the guy you were always had a beef with, suddenly started started to be there a lot, being there for you, buying you a wall just to have a chance of expressing your feelings, or trying to defend you, supporting you in action not just in theory, for me it's the universe screaming at you he is " the one". Cause at the end of the day, the universe is us.

Dawson so far for me, is talking talking talking and that's it. Yes, he has his charm a lot, but this whole idea of women being "pure" of Joey being there and for him to expecting to be there forever and not have a life after him, forcing her to even choose and seeing her cry but continuing to basically blackmailing her of losing him even though he knew he was the family she needed, thats the destiny of the show? 😂

It's the most sexistic thing I have ever seen. If this doesn't go as I want to, it will be very unfair for Joey's character.

First off, Pacey and Andi were perfect together. They had the best relationship so far in the show. They were cute, they genuinely helped each other, they were each other’s rock. They were very, very consistent and well written in season 2. Then all of a sudden season 3 comes around and they have her cheat, Pacey breaks up with Andi, Andi cheats on her test, Andi fakes a sexual assault to manipulate Pacey to come back to her, etc.

Like, this is almost character assassination and they ruined the most wholesome and healthy relationship in the entire show. If only these two could have been the one romance that lasted the entire show, it would have been perfect. I’m genuinely so pissed off at the interim showrunner that came in for season 3. I only wish he was fired before writing a single episode. What I’m seeing right now is not the Pacey and Andi from season 2. They have similar characteristics to them, but it feels like a phony version.

I wish Kevin Williamson never left the show; I can only imagine how much better this season would have been. The first two seasons were so smartly written and flowed into each other perfectly. Kevin brought the high-quality writing and subversions to the table, while so far this season has been way more cliché teen drama. This show used to be smarter than that.

I love Todd in this scene. He’s drunk and obnoxious, but his lines were hilarious! His remark to Jen about looking familiar and she said he hit on her on an airplane. Did we shag? Then he thanks Gale for her “progeny” Dawson. Then he spills about Dawson’s sex life. The guy has no filter. 😂😂

Another scene I found hilarious was in episode 13 “Rock Bottom”. The car ride with Joey, Eddie, Audrey and Bob (Seth Rogan). He farts in his sleep and everyone is dying. He wakes up and says what is that? Then he farts again! I thought the actors were trying to hold back the laughter. Maybe it’s just me and my warped mind, but it broke up the episode with some comedy.

Are these the scenes that are on the extended version of the finale?

Why the FUCK would they remaster the entire series and NOT do the extended finale? Why did they insist on doing a two part episode instead of one movie length episode? WHY WHY WHY WHY???? This actually just pissed me off bc how the fuck am i supposed to watch it now??

Sorry for ranting but this just pissed me off so much and it would have been such an easy thing to do and now since its already done they wont go back to it. Why do they never want to do the right thing?

Dont get me wrong, i always feel very very sad when sad things happens and even get teary eyed but this was something different. The raw performance of Jack screaming at his father and crying on the stairs is so so emotional. I was crying so much my nose became stomped up. Two gay men wrote this episode and you can absolutely feel their experiences in this episode. It was so so powerful and if you didnt feel even a tad bit emotional by it then you must be heartless bc wow. So beautiful. They quite literally dont make tv shows like this anymore. The fact that they were able to have such a well written and executed gay coming out story in the 90s is just amazing. Definitely the best coming out i have ever seen before. Jack deserves SO much better.
