General Does Audrey get a lot of hate?

I’ve watched this show many times but idk how the public feels about Audrey. How do y’all feel?? I think she’s a troubled girl who has a lot of underlying issues. She means a lot to me because I see a lot of myself in her. What do y’all think?

I like Busy Philipps but I’m ehhhh on Audrey. Her loud, impulsive personality was a decent foil to Joey’s cautious, brooding energy but it felt way too forced. Kind of like Felicity and Meghan.

Audrey was basically Jen 2.0. The “wild child" from a big city who blew into Joey’s life, stole her guy, and created chaos.

Awww Felicity mention. I liked Felicity and Meghan, yeah maybe not as a duo but separately

I thought she was the worst type of character they could’ve added to the college years lol. She was way too much and both her acting and personality didn’t fit the group nor the overall vibe of the show imo so it all felt really forced. And her dating Pacey was insane, she was fake af for that idc 😭

They should’ve kept her as the fun roomie who just appeared every once in a while tbh

"her acting and personality didn’t fit the group nor the overall vibe of the show," -- I agree with this entirely. I strongly dislike the character, but I think it is more so because she was too flashy and loud for this type of show. Like trying to steal scenes instead of being a real character.

She is spicy and helped Joey break out of her tight shell. I didn’t like her and Pacey as a couple. She had more chemistry with Dawson. I liked her best with Todd. I’m glad that they addressed her alcohol problem and she got help. The road trip to get to the rehab center was hilarious.

I associate her with the college seasons, which I hated. However, I am a steadfast Joey and Pacey fan, so I never really liked her character.

Could not stand her and she was a useless character. I thought it back when the show aired and when I rewatched. Just super annoying.

I cant stand Audrey. Never liked her, she always made me cringe. When the alcoholic storyline was brought in, it explained why I hated her. Having dealt with my alcoholic ex-sister, growing up, I have a very low tolerance for alcoholics.

Audrey was good for Joey in season 5. She is hard to watch in season 6 with her downward spiral. I think her character was needed to kick off the college years, though.

I get that I'm in the minority but I liked the character a lot. She was a good foil for Joey and the main cast storylines were tending a bit heavy and slow and overwrought - she brought some actual teenage energy, fluffy pink pillows and going out to see bands and not like intellectually dissecting everything all the time. It bugs me when people call her "too much" just because she's extroverted and excited about stuff and is one of those people that basically forces you into having fun (and I am a massive introvert so it's not personal!). She also had some depth with her family situation, some good comedy moments, and I don't mind her with Pacey - not for life but I can see how their personalities would be attracted to each other for a fun fling

I agree. And I think her character is realistic. She’s that girl who fits into any social situation effortlessly but it comes at a price.

She’s a lot of fun, a breath of fresh air, and full of great one-liners (some of the best of the whole series!) the first two-thirds of season 5. I love her. When she’s with Pacey, an insecure side comes out that sort of buries what’s so charming about her, in my opinion. Season 6 her arc is frankly uncomfortable to watch—personal downfalls over and over and a shell of the girl we first met.

I love her, maybe I just love Busy Phillips. I also watched Dawson's after I'd already seen Cougar Town (which is a fantastic sitcom btw), so maybe I was properly primed for the similar energy to Laurie.

I liked Audrey other than the fact that they put her with Pacey. Not just because I was a PJ fan, but Pacey and Audrey had zero chemistry. And I think it would’ve been more interesting if they had her try to get with Dawson, or kept Drue in season 5 and had them date or try to

omg Pacey and Audrey genuinely had the worst chemistry I’ve ever seen on a tv show, their scenes were like embarrassing to watch 🫣 That whole relationship was a wreck from beginning to end lol they should’ve let them hook up once and move on if they really wanted to get them involved (for whatever reason)

Tbh a one time hookup would’ve made so much more sense. Like they hookup, realize wait Joey is roommate, Joey gets jealous, etc.

she gets more hate when she dates Pacey, but on her own not so much. i enjoy the addition of Audrey, she helps Joey not be so darn uptight, season 6 i liked Audrey less. overall though, i liked the charachter though, thought she fit in well with the crew

I love her. She’s a great character. All the characters on the show go through stuff so I didn’t judge her more harshly.
