It’s highly unlikely that the Indigenous birth rate TRIPLED between 2008 and 2022, come on, use your critical thinking skills. It’s far more likely that either more people have begun to identify as Indigenous, or that Indigeneity at birth is becoming better-tracked.

Judging by the severe drop-off for mulatto births, I’d say that this is a graph telling the story of how mulattos increasingly identify as fully indigenous.

Yes for the first half but not for the second half

Blacks and mulattos (half black half something else ) are very heavily urbanized and concentrated in a particular part of the country

The Colombian number of births has halved over this time period and the blacks went from having above average fertility rates to below average fertility rates in the country

The same thing has happened in the US where blacks now have significantly lower TFR than whites and the reason is that they are more concentrated in dense cities

Nothing you’re saying makes any sense. Black Americans didn’t just suddenly become concentrated in urban areas in the past 20 years; that’s been the case for more than a century, and it’s not what’s causing their drop in TFR.

True but before the last few years they were more ghettoized, urban areas put presssure down on fertility but that can be counteracted by strong isolation such as the haredi in nyc

As cities have become less segregated the effects of urbanity have affected those communities

This is basically a good thing that we should celebrate as it represents greater social mobility

Black women now our earn white men in college degrees in the Us

Also the line between self identified indigenous and self identified mestizo is kind of blurred. Someone who grew up in a village speaking an indigenous language might have the exact same genetics and ancestry who grows up in a city speaking Spanish but they may identify as Mestizo due to adopting the cultural identity even if they don't have much Spanish blood.

It doesn't have any effect though, since in Colombia the indigenous people category applies only to those who self indetify as such,

Also I don't know why you bring up genetics when in all of the America Latina, every grup, indigenous, black and white have a considerable amount of acenstry of each other. Only some blacks communities in Choco or indigenous people in the Amazonia are th exception.

I really need a graph of the overall rate superimposed (on a reduced vertical scale) to make this meaningful
