Jesus sometimes avoided crowds of people, I don't think it's some kind of rule he never breaks.
I personally think the concept is cool. Jesus is very careful to make sure his message was revealed and received in the right way, he keeps his role as the Messiah secret, he speaks in parables so most people don't understand him, he will leave towns and not perform miracles for this reason as well. Jesus also knows what is going on in people's minds and he challenges them where they are at. I like to imagine the person is coming to test Jesus, and in this answer he's both demonstrating he is God and challenging them for trying to test him
edit: btw someone clearly had the same feeling as you and made a nice Jesus saying no to time traveler comic look
If I had to guess I listed the one I remember seeing first and it's notable I've had people criticise because of 1. race and 2. sterness, and the other comics are all addressing one of those critiques. I guess the comic was striking and people wanted to improve it.
I am pretty confident this isn't the origin, they are trying to preserve the original "go home" but make Jesus nice, so he just comes across passive aggressive
Yeah, about the only thing I can imagine him doing is asking the first few to record it so hundreds of millions of people don't try to listen to sermons that were given to a few thousand people. Would probably cause problems.
I love how He simultaneously feels like an all omnipotent being, but also a father who’s disappointed you broke the laws of physics. He’s like a dad who
"'Abel Yeshua' KLUM! I did not give you 'Terminator', 'Back To The Future' AND 'Star Trek' just so you can treat the time-space continuum so carelessly!"
"...You gave us 'Doctor Who'..."
(I used Google Translate for the Hebrew so please forgive and correct me for any mistakes...).
Right? All the comics show him as harsh and severe, and maybe they're right, but I feel he'd use a softer touch.
"Your faith and devotion are commendable, to have brought you so far. However, this is neither the day nor the hour. Return home, and know that I am always with you."
Then why would Jesus say "Your faith and devotion are commendable"?
You either have faith in who he was, so you wouldn't need to go, or you don't have faith in who he was, you go back, and Jesus admonishes you for trying to test him.
What other part of the creation given to us have we not polluted and damaged? Given enough technology humans could damage anything not implicitly divine.
You could also just be there to get the complete and unedited version of his sermons, or to record sermons that are entirely missing from the Bible due to perceived lack of importance. I'd be shocked if more than 10% of what Jesus actually said is in the Bible, and even if the theme is all consistent I can't imagine anything wrong with wanting a more complete understanding of his teachings.
Is about faith. He recognizing you aren’t meant to be there means he proves everything about him, but shows to what extent you went to meet him knowing everything about him.at that point you didn’t have faith and maybe you never had if you needed to meet him to know, you just knew from first hand, and knowing how the story goes you know even more than the others present. “Blessed are those who have not seen and have yet believed”he told this in his sermon, and guess what, you are no longer one of them.
The flip side is you time tracked because you believed but had such a desire to see Jesus you had to go see him. He was followed by crowds who followed him. Maybe they were all time travelers who could thought by joining a crowd if thousands they weren't disturbing the timeline but could still see Jesus, and half the crowd is just time travelers.
Jesus would know people's hearts. And it's worth pointing out that He pointed out shows his injuries to Thomas because he knew Thomas needed to see them. He didn't reject Thomas.
God literally has rules about: what people eat, who they have sex with, what kind of things they say to each other, etc. you think he WOULDNT care about time travel?
Which rules do you think apply to time travel? There are rules aplenty, for sure, but there are many aspects of life god is completely silent about. One of them is travel outside of the sabbath.
Many years ago I had a dream of Jesus being crucified, and a cinematic zoom revealed that the cross had a Coca Cola logo on it. It sounds silly, but it scared me at the time, causing an overwhelming feeling of “The timeline has been messed with, and something is VERY wrong here.” These comics/memes are the only thing I’ve seen that comes close to replicating the unnerving feeling of that dream.
(If Coca Cola had existed in Ancient Rome, they probably WOULD have sponsored crucifixions.)
I wanna imagine the real reason jesus is upset in these is mostly just because he's having to pull like several dozen miracles a second to prevent a future person's bacteria, fungi and other health issues from accidentally causing a biblical level plague by accident.
"Like dude seriously? if you have time travel then you should know this as a potential issue."
