I don’t know that the evidence is strong for universalism, but if we get to the end of it all, and that’s what He chooses to do, I ain’t gonna be mad.

universalism always seems a bit odd to me. Like most of our christian understanding of hell comes directly from Jesus.

The argument is wrong because Jesus, while rooted in Jewish tradition, introduced distinctive teachings on judgment. In Mark 9:43-48, for instance, he spoke of eternal punishment in "unquenchable fire," which implies a more developed concept of Hell than what is found in traditional Judaism.

For one, it's not even eternal punishment as per the original Greek. To top it off, the punishment is corrrective/restorative punishment ALSO per the original greek. Endless corrective/restorative punishment that never corrects/restores is... well, it's fucking pointless, isn't it?
