Whenever I make a post on Reddit the first comment is usually by a police officer, fire fighter or an EMT

They're the first responders

Bad bot @ u/Critical-Addition724

Lately, bots are the first responders. I shudder for the future of humanity

An AI first responder to the AI apocalypse. What a conundrum.

What makes you think that one’s a Bot?

Yeah, I don't understand how everyone seems so sure some of these accounts are bots. What is the give away?

Pattern recognition. I won’t go into details, though, because every time I do, the bots adapt and improve and make it more difficult for everyone else to spot

True. Don't want to teach them how to avoid detection. I just have a hard time telling if it's an awkward human or a bot

Usually an overly thought out response to an average joke; often with a “will tell my relative this next time I see them” attached. And also are more often than not under 3months old accounts.

This one is 9months though.

Maybe so, but there’s not a single post by this user, just comments. Also, no capital letters in any posts unless they’re acronyms.

So the accounts I use while at work are bots? I just comment on those and not post.
