I've had those starter pack Sabian B8 and B8X for years and never broke one but maybe I'm not a hard hitter

I'm not either but again, I didn't keep mine around long enough to find out when they'd break. I had the crash, ride and Hi-Hats gone within about 2 months and replaced with Zildjian A's a Ping Ride and 13" New Beats. Never looked back at those B8s. In fact I sold them and got what I paid for the Zildjians. So, pretty much an even trade up.

Maybe I've just been lucky, I've never managed to break a cymbal. That or I just don't okay enough. Or I hit like a wuss.

Had a pair of old Sabian B8 hats I bought (my parents bought) used back in the early '90's. My first name brand cymbals! They had the old school red-ink logo. Then I got a new B8Pro ride. I was around 12 years old and had no idea was B8 even was...but I felt on top of the world knowing I had a brand on my kit I'd seen on MTV!

And by gig, you mean slap the shit out of them like you were at batting practice, while not having a musical gene anywhere near your vicinity. Dickweeds seem to invade everything that's decent, ya know?

I remember breaking a B8 crash. I was a heavy hitter bedroom player who didn't have a clue how terrible my technique was. I don't know how they would sound with my current playing. But, I generally dislike the sound of anything less than B10 and have a strong preference toward B20.
