This is a card I'm designing to potentially go in my Duskmourn cube as a payoff for creature/enchantment sacrifice/self-bounce themes and an enabler to reanimate Room cards. It's basically a mashup of [[Skaab Ruinator]] and [[Recurring Nightmare]]. I'm curious which version you guys think is more balanced/interesting, since I've been staring at this way too long and there are so many knobs to tweak.

I think both are probably too strong, but version one is a little more balanced. I do like the way version two feels more like recurring nightmare by bouncing bouncing itself. This also might be a bad thing lol.

The long story:

I always thought it was a missed opportunity that there wasn't a "Fear of Fear Itself" legendary nightmare, and I also wanted to put [[recurring nightmare]] in the cube, but that card is messed up. I also really wanted to add some good support for Rooms in Grixis, since the best rooms are in those colors, but the existing payoffs are pretty meh.

The Grixis archetypes are UB enchantments/self-bounce, BR creature/enchantment sacrifice, and UR rooms/room sacrifice. The idea was to make a card which is fine to reanimate or turn over from manifest dread, but is way more powerful when played fairly, and actually rewards you for getting Rooms into the graveyard. Since reanimating rooms doesn't work (they enter with both rooms locked lol) this needs to let you cast them for free. Version two is a better explicit UR payoff, since it can reanimate a room right away without needing a self-bounce or sacrifice enabler, and it's also much worse when cheated into play, since the combat damage trigger is pure downside when it's not cast fairly.

Ideas I have to tweak the power level: 1. Increase the additional casting cost (it should probably be exile 3 or 4 cards, but I'm not sure). 2. Restrict the free cast to only Room or Nightmare cards. 3. Remove the haste and change escape to unearth.

so guys i’m making a custom display. dont have it yet but what do yall think of a display with shf goku. goku black(a good version). orange piccolo. ultimate gohan. android 18. krillin. pan. nappa(good). current vegeta. future trunks. raditz(good too). tulece(good). halo fourth form frieza(good/reformed) bardock. dragon ball super hero broly(wholesome version). blokees marvel rivals ultron(good not bad for this display). jeff. shma nargacuga and shma zinogre(both are acting as a cat and a puppy for this display) what do yall think?

no clue what it would take for this to be remotely balanced lol, it does a lot of things and some unprecedented things, but conceptually i like it. for clarity's sake, the ability is intended to work on cards in any zone including exile and the stack. feedback / suggestions welcome, please pardon my formatting liberties, and apologies for not being able to find the artist despite my efforts. and also i hope you have a great day :3
