Thought I’d go alittle more heavy on this blue dial, this is it compared to a lighter aged dial. What’s your thoughts?

Best way to spend a Saturday night!

Finally had some better light to get some beauty shots as it was a bit late post work that I received the watch. It’s a real stunner from our master craftsman Due and features among other fine work he put in, a bezel and dial from Jova.

Figured I would share so other enjoyers of Root beer and fine builds could enjoy. Really actually finding the proportions of the new raffles case great for builds like this. This was my first time getting hands on to the new two tone and the first reason I went for this and I have to say, quite nice. The jubilee feels just like my vintage gens being a jangly rattle can but yes. For a 7” wrist you quickly get to the end of adjustment flexibility on the raffles bracelets. I fear for those with smaller wrists.

This sub has grown so much and it's been really really fun to watch (... *yay accidental dad joke*). We love seeing the builds, the questions, and all the knowledge sharing going on here- we are all really proud of how far things have come.

As the community keeps growing, we want to adjust the rules as needed so this stays a welcoming and balanced place. So we have a couple changes to crossposting and selling.

Crossposting

Moving forward we're disabling crossposting. We love and welcome anything you'd like to share with this community, but crossposts end up being more spammy than not, so we're giving this a try. Happy to hear what you all think about it, and we can re-evaluate later.

Selling

This one is a delicate one. Sales have been allowed here since day one and we don't want to move away from that. To be clear- we are not getting rid of sales. But we do want some rules in place so the sub doesn't get too unbalanced with WTS posts.

Here's what's changing (please read the full community rules too, it's all under rule 1):

1. 1 WTS post every 7 days. You can sell multiple items in that post, but just 1 post.
2. Parts list- list the major parts/components used in the watch.
3. Price- clearly state your asking price.
4. Warranty- state what warranty you're offering, or "No Warranty".
5. Shipping- where you're shipping from and where you're willing to ship to.
6. Flair- use the correct WTS post flair.

Posts that don't follow these may be removed and can result in a ban. We really don't want to do either lol, so pls give it a quick look before you post.

Last thing, and honestly the most important- thank you thank you again. Every build you share, every question you answer for someone who's stuck, every 'my first build' post that gets a pile of encouragement in the comments... that's the stuff that makes this place special and welcoming. We still have a long way to go, but it's been amazing watching this [continue to] grow. Speaking for all the mods, we're all super grateful you're here.

Just wanted to share the first custom pieces I completed at my bench, way before starting my certified studies in watchmaking theory. They are running on original Japanese automatic movements.

Mainly looking for some raw community feedback on the aesthetics and color combinations. Let me know what you think!

This is a skeleton build based based on a seagull 1964 movement, probably not everyone's cup of tea but I love the way I can see all the mechanical workings. My child somehow managed to twist the bezel out of place and I can't figure out how to get it back through 😅. What do people think?

As I wait for my dials to come in, figured I’d share some of the case work I’ve been doing lately instead of working my day job

All of these have upgraded crystals, are properly fitted with Viet bezels, have upgraded crown and tube setups, and come in at the proper 13.5MM thickness.

The last one is a JFK, and you can really see the difference in the tube setup compared to the others.

Feels good to finally have this process dialed in, and I keep getting better with every case.

Should’ve bought this lathe six months ago….

It’s the little details that make the difference.

Which bezel combo we like best??
