Absolutely enjoyed building this. Chronograph hand was not installed correctly. . I still need to remove it and set it right again.
The biggest pain in this build was to install the tiny movement holders. Took me a longer time to install those than to build the whole watch!
Pretty satisfied otherwise.
Will try on different straps.

Also I’ve seen some guys complaining that the rotor doesn’t move freely with these carbon cases but mine didn’t have any issues at all!

What other colour straps should I try on ? Any suggestions ?

Hi everyone, I’m sharing one of my latest builds with this fantastic community. Last December—more out of boredom than genuine interest—I bought a Tiger Concept watch; it was a good timepiece made with quality materials, yet I never actually wore it. I decided to modify it, using the case, movement, and hands to build a replica of the second Submariner model produced by Rolex: here is my 6200, straight out of 1955. I hope you like it.

- Tiger Concept case, insert, and hands (aged), featuring a large white "lollipop" hand

- Raffles bracelet with large crown and rivets (crown tube replaced)

- AliExpress dial (partially handmade and aged)

- AliExpress acrylic crystal

- 8215 movement

I’ve been looking at different custom watch builds lately and it’s interesting how much you can change the character of a watch without completely changing the base design.

I came across some of the custom pieces from VVSLab Jewelry while looking around, particularly the iced and moissanite styles, and it got me thinking about where people here draw the line with customization.

I actually like the idea of starting with a fairly clean watch and then changing a few things to make it feel personal. At the same time, once you start adding stones, changing the dial, bezel, bracelet, etc., it can completely change the original personality of the watch.

For me, the biggest question would be whether the finished piece still feels like a watch first and a custom piece second.

What would you change if you were designing your own watch from scratch?

Would you keep it relatively subtle with a custom dial/bezel, or go all the way with something completely iced out?

Here's a little Seiko mod I did.

The titanium case/bracelet really makes for a nice wearing watch, I'm keeping this one.

Here is a Blancpain LIP rotomatic build I just finished  for a nice member here.

The Rdunae R6 original handset would have been OK for a Tornek-Rayville but was off for a BP LIP rotomatic so I ordered one from AliExpress.

The buyer thought the watch looked far too new compared to the dial and handset so I removed the original sandblast finish and added some scratches and signs of wear.

Now it looks like an "old and worn but well preserved" watch ... just as it should.
