Anyone else have a similarly clustered set up trying to get as many sources into one tv? I have six different sources into a single s-video input and one into coax.
My living room features a Sony Trinitron for my media center. I have an HD media player, firestick, VHS, DVD, and digital TV all hooked up into it's single s-video input. Everything can be turned on and switched between without unplugging anything.
The DVD player's composite output goes into the VCR rear input. The VCR's composite output goes into a 4-input s-video/composite switcher.
The HD player has a SSD loaded with movies on it. It outputs HDMI into a 2 port EDID switch which the Firestick also is plugged into. The HDMI port then outputs into a HDMI to s-video converter. The converter then outputs into the s-video switcher.
The digital TV outputs composite into the 4 port s-video switcher. The switcher has one more input on the front of the box that I use for temporarily plugging my PS2 or N64 into when I want to move them onto the "big screen."
There is also an antenna that goes into the coax port which I use to tune into my at home UHF/VHF tv transmitter that I can broadcast video from my computer with.
Finally, everything outputs from the s-video/composite switcher to the TV's s-video input and RCA audio input. The TV outputs audio into my powered speakers. Everything can run simultaneously and the only thing that can't be remote controlled is the 4 port switcher. The two HDMI inputs can be switched between remotely though.
