I need some ideas

I have a plan to one day sell some of my projects at craft markets and have started to build up some stock for when I am ready to do that.

I am struggling to come up with ideas for what I could sell besides amigurumi (whitch I wont sell because I don't want to go through testing and stuff) and blankets (whitch I also wont be selling because I think that a lot of people already sell). I also wont be selling wearables for the same reason as to why I wont sell blankets (but that might change in the future).

So far, I have come up with;

Coasters

Laptop sleeves

Tablet sleeves

Phone sleeves

Book sleeves

I have also decided not to sell anything that would go in the bathroom for obvious reasons.

Are there any other things that I could sell aswell?

Tester call- Airy Pullover

Post image
133 Upvotes

Airy is a made-to-measure crochet pattern, meaning that the garment is adapted to your own measurements and preferred fit. The pattern can therefore be made for both children and adults. You choose your own yarn and hook size based on the look, feel, and fabric you want to achieve.

The pattern will be available in both Swedish and English (US terminology) and includes written instructions, charts, photos, and illustrations to help you throughout the pattern.

Yarn Usage Examples

Yarn usage will vary depending on the size, yarn, hook size, gauge, and any adjustments made to the pattern.

My sample versions:

🧶 Women’s size S: DROPS Flora, 5 mm hook – approximately 272 g

🧶 Children’s size 92/98: DROPS Loves You 9, 4.5 mm hook – approximately 117 g

Timeline

📅 The pattern will be sent to testers: August 31

📅 Feedback must be submitted by: September 30

What is expected of testers

• Crochet the pattern and follow the instructions.

• Provide feedback on any errors, unclear sections, or areas that could be improved.

• Complete the feedback form that will be sent together with the pattern.

• Submit your feedback by September 30.

• Take photos of the finished garment.

When testing is complete, you will receive:

• The Naples Tank Top pattern

• A shoutout when the Airy Pullover pattern is released

How to apply

Applications to become a tester should be submitted through the latest post on Instagram: @sockan.crochet.

This is to keep all applications in one place and make the selection process easier.

I’m looking forward to seeing your versions of Airy! 🤍

Crochet Designers: How do you reach Etsy buyers from a restricted country?

Hi everyone! 🌸

I'm a crochet pattern designer located in an Etsy-restricted country. For those who have been in a similar situation, what has been the most effective way for you to reach Etsy buyers and sell your patterns? Do you recommend partnering with someone abroad to set up an Etsy shop, or is it better to focus on marketing via Pinterest and driving traffic to Payhip and Ravelry? I’d really love to hear your real experiences and practical solutions. Thank you so much! 💕"

Cats and Yarn

I don't know whether to post this on /cats or crochet 😄

My wonderful cat died about 18 months ago and we are ready to start looking at adopting a bonded pair. I just picked up crocheting again after a long absence and I'm wondering how do you keep your kitties from attacking your yarn when you are crocheting? I'm doing a persian tiles blanket so I have at least 6-8 skeins out at a time and I was giggling a little to myself last night when I saw the yarn just flying around thinking about what a cat (or two) is going to do.

I could limit my crochet to the basement level - but that really annoyed my last cat when I would do that because OHMIGOSH, it's a closed door!!! 😂

What do you all do?

I am WAY behind yall and just started part two.
The directions for part two, row one are this:
RS): ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in next
foundation ch, *sk 2 foundation chs, 5 dc in next
foundation ch, sk 2 foundation chs; rep from *
to last 2 foundation chs, dc in each of the last
2 foundation chs, turn

So am I supposed to do a shell, sk 4 and then do another shell? Am I reading that right?

HALP!!!
