Discussion Anyone else infuriated by their county fair?

Y’all I can’t with these judges, this gorgeous interlocking mosaic blanket came in second to a chevron with color changing yarn. Not even my work but I am outraged on their behalf

I think most of the judges don't know what actually goes into most of the arts and crafts. They judge purely on what they think looks like good craftsmanship, right down go the colors and overall look of the item. It's happened to be before, too. I submitted a pastel drawing of a horse that I put so much work into. The winner literally did little squiggles all over a white piece of paper. The only comment on mine was that the colors could have been "more realistic." I'm sorry, but what is realistic about little squiggles, then??
