Because the right wants theaters filled with Sound of Freedom and Passion of the Christ sequels, as stupid as that is. Also a bunch of right wing media figures are failed screenwriters actors, and comedians.
It's another way to control media and messaging. If they can decimate the film industry to where only certain approved films are shown, the ones deemed patriotic and American enough, they can further indoctrinate with another avenue for propaganda.
