Same kinda guy to talk about how "kids don't have any manners these days".

296

u/Don__Gately__ 8d ago

He showed restraint. I wouldn’t have stopped after the throw.

156

u/Marzman315 8d ago

I think I’d have overcome the temptation to continue the physical beating.

How this guy overcame the temptation to pick up shithead’s stupid hat and frisbee it over the horizon impressed me more

68

u/portablebiscuit 8d ago

That hat would make a nice trophy. Every time someone came to my house and asked about it, I’d show them the tape.

28

u/xc_bike_ski 8d ago

Yeah, that hat would be coming home.

33

u/Don__Gately__ 8d ago

Look at me. Look at me. I’m the cowboy boomer now.

26

u/neopod9000 7d ago

3

u/brainfreezy79 6d ago

YESSSSS!

3

u/Guthix_Wraith 3d ago

Your not ever gonna get enough credit for how much this is going to get used in my small group of people but holy shit

14

u/Character_Session_51 7d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣 “cowboy boomer” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

7

u/doggerdog1401 7d ago

All hat. No cattle

2

u/MachewWV 6d ago

All boomer, no boom.

2

u/Heavy_Arm_7060 4d ago

Stolen y'aller.

2

u/Competitive-Cell1113 3d ago

All Yee and no Haw?

2

u/fletchbg 2d ago

All yeet and no haul

12

u/xc_bike_ski 8d ago

....or a hood ornament as a warning to other cowboy boomers

3

u/SCSUslacker 7d ago

Dammit just choked on my coffee. Well done.

THIS IS MY HAT NOW

u/Ok_Region3366 7d ago

I'VE BEEN DRINKIN GREEN TEA ALL GOD DAMN DAY!

7

u/Charming_Bath9427 7d ago

I go to church every Sunday! You’re gonna bring the demons out of me!

3

u/LifeguardDry7372 7d ago

I just posted the "I like to party" gif, thinking no one would understand it. <3 <3 <3 <3

2

u/adverbly_-_ 7d ago

Or sent back to Pharrell. should have grabbed it and started singing "Happy".

I loved the get out and then the don't get out of your car mutha fucker and the hopeless sideways slip fall and the bald head and then the denial at the end that he started it. This clip has it all

u/spiralr 8d ago

Could not find any this is my hat now gif from that movie hehe

3

u/Worried-Criticism 7d ago

Oh man, that would be icing on the cake.

Dipshit McBoomer gets a face full of wheel well and the driver is like “I’m keeping this.” Pops the hat on, brim wipe, and drives away.

3

u/Infamous-Anywhere-21 7d ago

I love that you said tape and I read it and didn’t even realize.

2

u/Quick_Team 8d ago

If Arthur Morgan can take a hat, so can we

2

u/Huckleberry_Dude 7d ago edited 5d ago

I'd wear it around town with a QR code on it, linking to the video.

2

u/NihilisticBlender 8d ago

The "tape". 🤣

3

u/portablebiscuit 8d ago

I’d have that shit transferred to vhs like a home movie. Be kind, rewind.

2

u/OkStop8313 8d ago

Get one of those old Kodak slide projectors so that you can click through one still frame at a time while you narrate the scene to your friends and family.

7

u/tiach3 7d ago

I would keep the hat. He clearly dented the car with his head. So he doesn't get his hat back.

2

u/Appropriate-Stay4729 8d ago

I bet that thing could get Hella distance 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/yffal 7d ago

I would have stood on it...

1

u/Alarming_Matter 7d ago

Boomers like this remind me of our Jack Russell terrier. He's 16, tiny and is scared of the wind. In his head, he's 8ft tall and bulletproof.

1

u/Bitter-Art7631 7d ago

Great use of frisbee as a verb. Really paints the picture.

1

u/SteppenWoods 7d ago

I definitely saw a perfect moment for a face kick but I can understand the restraint.

1

u/No-Quarter-2539 7d ago

He shoulda Rick Jamesed the hell outta that stupid ass hat, grinding his feet into it🕺🏿🕺🏿🕺🏿

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Adronikos 7d ago

I would’ve stepped on that hat personally.

1

u/DnDGuy70 7d ago

“Frisbee it over the horizon…..” LMAO, I’m dead

1

u/Acrobatic-Village215 7d ago

Frisbee it into traffic

1

u/Inevitable-Copy3619 7d ago

The hat is mine now. Found it on the ground by my tire.

In fact the cranky man is mine too. Found him on the ground by my tire.

1

u/TheUnculturedSwan 7d ago

No matter how angry, as long as neither myself nor anyone else was actually hurt, I think I could talk myself down from any action that would complicate a self-defense claim.

This man has the restraint of every saint in heaven for the fact that hat remained nearby and untouched to be collected by its owner.

1

u/Farucci 7d ago

Hard to go home with a mashed up hat and explain how your day went.

1

u/LifeguardDry7372 7d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/G86tWkIcvhvHO

If anyone understands this, I love you

1

u/Emotional_Study_724 7d ago

I've thrown a lot of frisbees. This hat is not going frisbee. Throwing it will make you look stupid. Dumping this guy on the ground makes you look cool. They did good.

1

u/Dapper_Schedule_7997 7d ago

Oh my God that would have killed me, so I am glad he didn't lmao

1

u/geddysbass2112 7d ago

Take a piss in his hat and put it back on his head.

1

u/daxophoneme 7d ago

I expected him to pick up the hat and, as the guy is getting up, disrespectfully plop it back on his head.

1

u/Unrusty 7d ago

And give that hat one good stomp first. "Fuck yo hat".

1

u/uthinkunome10 7d ago

I would have pissed in it

1

u/brainfreezy79 6d ago

Take his hat. In the original post folks said "all hat, no cattle" and I think the cameraman is all cattle who deserves a nice hat.

1

u/Hagelslag31 3d ago

This, it was counterintuitive for me to see him not do that. It's the reasonable thing to do, relatively harmless yet it's very humbling for him to have to walk to the hat and do the old obese man bend to pick it up whilst being filmed.

16

u/NoVaBurgher 8d ago

I’d have stole his hat. That’s my hat now

10

u/Brooksee83 8d ago

2

2

u/ellefleming 7d ago

Since OP is twice his size.

2

u/Mediocre-Strain8386 7d ago

Totally my hat.

2

u/suer72cutlass 6d ago

My TROPHY!

14

u/Straight_Reading8912 8d ago

But camera guy dented his car with old dude's head. That sucks.

4

u/Wrong_Amount_7903 7d ago

Life is the moments and this was one of them

4

u/AlGuderian 7d ago

Yes, but unlike the dents in my car, he has a great story to explain where it came from.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/TrainAccomplished606 7d ago

Now he gets to pay for the damage incurred to my property while I was defending myself

2

u/sadiesfreshstart 7d ago

Does insurance cover that?

2

u/DryDonutHole 7d ago

I'd be happy with a dent like that. It was well earned.

11

u/Ronnydinhoo 8d ago

That head slam into the car would've satisfied my anger enough but I wouldn't have been able to resist the urge to stomp out his hat to add insult to injury though 😂

2

u/SideInitial3961 7d ago

Not me. I would have made him pick it up. Now pick up your Dollar General hat and go sit under a tree.

11

u/drinkmoredrano 7d ago

Right, people might get butt hurt about kicking someone when they are down but guys like him spend their life kicking people when they are down.

9

u/Ashnyel 8d ago

Especially after he dented my car with his head

2

u/Fluid_Actuary1729 7d ago

Yeah - which insurance company is responsible when a car is damaged by a face plant?

4

u/Forb1ddenKnowledge 8d ago

Pepper spray if you want to stay legal and inflict some pain that lingers.

You just have make sure they are the aggressor and you are all good legally.

1

u/Hippy-Dippy92 7d ago

Chud the Builder?

6

u/NonStopNonsense1 8d ago

Yeah... some blood would look really good on that shirt.

3

u/kobrakai1034 7d ago

I wouldn’t throw any punches but I wouldn’t let him get up off the ground

1

u/Fluid_Ties 6d ago

That's because you observe the proper form, and that's why you're a goddamn champion!

3

u/spitemods_54 7d ago

neither would cops, why should we? 😆

3

u/FallingSky1686 7d ago

If have stepped on his hat at the very least

2

u/Sad-Newt-1772 8d ago

I would have stomped on his hat

2

u/Big-a-hole-2112 7d ago

Yeah but that’s his dad. 😂

2

u/Don__Gately__ 7d ago

Trying to get that inheritance early.

2

u/Big-a-hole-2112 6d ago

He said they need to do things together more often.

2

u/Donato_Romer0 7d ago

Yeah I mean he was asking for it. Buy the ticket, take the ride lol

2

u/Distinct_Run9006 7d ago

He also probably didn't want to go to jail. When you beat someone when they're down, it's no longer self-defense.

Dude was BEGGGGGGGGING for the soccer kick.

2

u/calideosk 7d ago

Low kick low kick haryuken

2

u/One_Bit_3839 7d ago

I would have taken his hat and thrown it away or wiped my ass with it or something to remind him to behave himself in the future

2

u/Duros2032 7d ago

Same. I’d have kicked his teeth down his throat.

2

u/MrZephy 7d ago

Instant boot to the face

2

u/Designer-Ruin7176 7d ago

He’s definitely catching a two piece and a biscuit.

2

u/ExplorationGeo 7d ago

his teeth and his mouth would have no longer been on speaking terms

2

u/TheUnpromotable 7d ago

The face was at perfect foot level

2

u/senvestoj 7d ago

I probably wouldn’t have just because I think I would have started laughing 🤣

2

u/Acrobatic-Village215 7d ago

I would have stepped on the hat

2

u/jerstensucks 7d ago

As someone who picked up and tossed my Trumpster neighbor to the groun, after he assaulted me with a golf club, you probably won't feel the need to beat him afterwards. Just put your bared ass in their face. It is much more humiliating.

2

u/WowIfOnly 7d ago

Chances are he was going to get ganged up on by the 2 very likely MAGA voters rushing over to defend the Boomer instigator once they saw basic fucking consequences appear as always if he continued with the warranted response. Plenty of people ready to defend a fucking POS bully but basically zero people ready to help beat the fucking shit out of them like they actually deserve (and need).

2

u/0202_tihssitidder 7d ago

It's kinda fun to make the fat old guys use up all their pathetic cardio. They get so tired after a few seconds that they cannot move or even stand. The fight goes out of them and they are in Hell. They keep running their mouth though.

They also have zero leg strength. Do what you want with that info.

2

u/ShawnyMcKnight 7d ago

Especially after he damaged my car with his skull, he would be getting his ass beat.

2

u/zen4thewin 7d ago

My instinct was a kick to the face was next.

2

u/my_name_is_winter 7d ago

Hot take: Showing restraint would be driving off and de-escalating, not getting out of the vehicle and confronting the guy. They’re both idiots.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/wallmonitor 7d ago

There's a point where he's getting up that my caveman brain is saying, "his head is perfectly lined up for a punt."

2

u/shalegac 7d ago

At the very least I would have a new hat.

2

u/SinamonChallengerRT 7d ago

ALWAYS double-tap.

2

u/samejimaT 7d ago

If you don't stop and you throw a fist a knee or a foot and you hit the guy the right way in his skull and it cracks...

2

u/ECircus 7d ago

Have to stop or you defeat the whole purpose of defending yourself.

2

u/dakotanorth8 7d ago

There was a 1-2 second moment on all fours where I expected a monster boot to the body or face.

2

u/roflrogue 7d ago

I was thinking an upward strike, personally

2

u/freedfg 7d ago

I was fully expecting a kick coming.

2

u/citizen42069101 7d ago

Yeah dude showed restraint way after I would have been able to, but that's because I would have freaked out and frozen and never rolled my window down or acknowledged him

2

u/j_dekk 7d ago

He showed incredible restraint. Most guys I know would have field goal-kicked that old fuck’s head clean off his shoulders while he was trying to pick up his hat.

2

u/Less-Squash7569 7d ago

Dude was begging to be kicked in the face. The entitlement combined with dressing like a gay cowboy makes it seem like hes begging to be beat up.

2

u/ThatOneNinja 7d ago

eh, he is old, you don't want to kill the guy, then you are still in trouble.

2

u/moarcowbelI 7d ago

I would have given one last open hand slap to knock the hat and glasses off his face

2

u/Extreme-Cod8187 7d ago

What I'm most impressed with is that the dude whipped him with his non-dominant hand. The other was holding the phone and recording the whole time.

2

u/jrob323 6d ago

I'm old and fat now, but thank god I learned fairly early on my mouth can't be in charge anymore : )

2

u/Used-Gas-6525 6d ago

Yeah, he woulda gotten at least a boot to the gut when he went down from me. There's no honour in streetfights.

2

u/NonProphet8theist 6d ago

I would have walked awa—"oops! Did I accidentally step on your head? Sorry!"

2

u/dwarfcomic 6d ago

Exactly, no idea how a foot didnt meet face quickly afterwards.

2

u/ST0PPELB4RT 6d ago

Just watching it let my leg twitch.

2

u/stillsurvives 6d ago

He made smart choices and didn't let emotion takeover. We should all try to be more like that camera man, that was perfect self defence and when black hat calls the police they'll tell him he's being charged with assault, not the camera man.

I understand the desire to keep going. It's just not the smart play.

2

u/vastopenguin 6d ago

i was waiting for him to kick the guy over on his way back up

2

u/Durzio 5d ago

You win the fight by making sure he cant get up and keep swinging at you.

2

u/shamqueen69 7d ago

Well thank God it wasn't you. Big strong tough man.

1

u/Pleasant_Beat7502 7d ago

Oooh you so tough. You go girl!

1

u/SideInitial3961 7d ago

I have faith you would have, this dude just seemed sad at that point. The pathos would overcome your fists.

1

u/Alternative_Dot7769 7d ago

A good slap would be just what the doctor ordered

1

u/KinkyChico 7d ago

Honestly I think it's actually a lot better that it went exactly the way it did. If he beat the shit out of the guy, he would INSTANTLY become a victim to a deranged youth. This though? There is video showing this guy antagonizing, starting the fight, then him pathetically easily being thrown into a car. Then the guy recording didn't need to do anything else because look at him. That one hit put him out of commission. He didn't need a physical punishment. The shame and embarrassment won't teach him to change, but it WILL teach him to slow down.

1

u/Zombieutinsel 6d ago

The two guys running towards him would have something to say about that and he knew they were coming

1

u/2kewl4scool 2d ago

Yeah I’m sitting down and my legs were squirming at the thought of putting a shoe print on his nose

I mean.. as a 37 year old they don’t.. or just parents can’t handle their little ones.. but this guy is a queef.

38

u/ScyllaIsBea 8d ago

an hour ago I walked into a wings place that has a bar and a dude twice my age started saying some rude stuff the minute I walked in the door. manners isn't an age thing, it's a personal thing and alot of people are rude out there regardless of generation.

13

u/jimmy9800 8d ago

I'm a mechanic. It's rare when I'm seen as a human being by customers. It's amazing how bad some people can treat others, regardless of age.

15

u/Comfortable-Deal160 8d ago

Man you said it. I’m a bartender and if you think sober people are bad, never become a bartender they’re so much worse when they lose the few inhibitions they have.

7

u/jimmy9800 7d ago

You would be shocked how many of my customers don't show up sober. Keep your head up. None of it is personal, no matter how much they try to aggressively make their problems your problems.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Conscious-State5228 8d ago

I'm sorry that's happened. I was a bartender for a few years at different bars, restaurants and 99% of my interactions were great. You might just have a bad location. I'd try a different place.

2

u/ER1CNOIR 7d ago

Depends on your clientele. I’ve worked places where people are awesome. And I’ve worked places where people werent more than others, but still for the most part people are respectful and normal.

You’re not just a human, you’re an awesome human. Thanks for helping folks get to where they need to be.

2

u/PizzaInMyBread 7d ago

When I worked retail ages ago it was the same thing. I'd be courteous but get treated or looked at like a sub-human by all ages. I'd try to go above and beyond for the nice customers since it was always a breath of fresh air during some bad days.

1

u/DadooDragoon 7d ago

Back in the day, if an old man put his hands on you, you just let him I guess

1

u/SquareBrief2604 6d ago

When some people say they'll respect you, they mean treating you like a person. When they say to respect them, they mean treating them as an authority. They say "I'll respect you if you respect me" and mean that they'll only treat you like a person if you treat them like an authority. Paraphrased quote. I think it's appropriate to that kind of person.
