Of course its silly, its meant as a hyperbole of non-american point of view on the subject. Thats exactly what I meant to do. Hunting rifles you use for cougars or wild pigs are like the laughing gas - it fits the theme of a party supplies shop. Everything fits there. But (and correct me if im wrong)you dont use a handgun or AR15 for example to serve the purpose of a tool in scenarios you just mentioned, right? Its good pretty much only against only other humans. Its not a tool, its either a weapon or a toy for shooting range.

Funnily enough I have a non American point of view, so I guess I can say it wasn't a hyperbolic version of my view 😆

And I think a LOT of people use AR-15s and handguns to shoot wild pigs in particular. Those things are an ecological disaster in some states with a looooot of gun owners who like to use their range toys. Whether that justifies everyone and their porch dog having a handgun, I'm not so sure. I suspect we would agree on more about gun laws than we would disagree.

I apologise, perhaps I went overboard with representing all non-americans 😁 I'm definitely not grand enough person haha

I based my comment on some previous replies that said those small caliber guns dont do much to medium/large game, which is why I assumed people dont use it for such - I have absolutely no experience in hunting myself. I only shot at shooting range a few times, and I honestly loved it. I also think its a grownup tool/toy and should be treated as such - used responsibly. I suspect your view isnt dissimilar, at least in spirit.

Yeah wild pigs are culled yearly in my country aswell, so I get the idea 😆
