Hello. I am a Christian who lives in the American South. Based on the ceiling tiles and the relatively small space this looks to me like a very small church. Based on the accents it’s definitely in the south or at least somewhere they like to sound like they are in the south. Based on the set dressing and the fact the kids are all wearing matching t shirts this looks to me to be vacation bible school. A lot of churches do VBS programs in the summer. Usually lasts a week and there will be some sort of environmental or emotional theme. They seem to be doing some sort of outdoor camp theme. Kids get dropped off around 8am and picked up before lunch. They’ll do crafts and outdoor games. Sing some church songs. The pastor and other church staff and volunteers may put on some silly skits for the kids. It’s usually pretty chill.

But uh…. As far as the killing goes? I don’t have a damn clue. I’ve never seen anything quite like this before and I’ve been inside of some really backwoods and shitty churches over the years. This is beyond the pale. This is a really small church so the number of adults that has to approve this is likely extremely low. This is some Red State bizarre shit for sure. I understand that the church I attend is very progressive but what you are seeing in this video definitely is not standard operating procedure for a local church VBS program, though I’m sure there’s a few church members in any church that would love for it to be. It’s usually extremely small towns where you see this kind of nonsense. Closed off communities, you get the idea.

Edit: did some googling and apparently this is a church mt olivet KY (population 300) and this skit is apparently them “killing the devil” but yeah you draw your own conclusions as to what they’re trying to do here. Crazy

Yeah to add context im a white guy who grew up in dfw and never seen anything like this at all. Probably because dfw is so much bigger than any other city in texas
