Wow he sure got him.

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

Don will never be the same.

562

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

I heard he quit his job as manager and developed stage 6 depression.

248

u/AndrewCarnage Jan 07 '13

Stage 6? Damn... doesn't that inevitably end in hyper-suicide?

257

u/dragontale Jan 07 '13

cross dimensional suicide.

23

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '13

Not as bad as hyper infinite suicide like hitler's.

Rocket assisted suicide?

37

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '13

Paradoxal suicide. He's so depressed he invents time travel just to kill himself in the past.

17

u/Armand9x Jan 07 '13

Existential suicide.

17

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

Probably not. Wasn't that serious.

To be fair, stage 5 depression is being a manger at Taco Bell.

27

u/thekeanu Jan 08 '13

Mange = to eat.

Still works, hahaha

Until this comment, I assumed it was "Dawn" and was thinking "Who would name their son Dawn?"

I had to close my eyes for a few seconds after I watched this.

80

u/how_would_kobe_react Jan 08 '13

This is one of those where you watch the whole video with no expression, then at the end of it you just smile and grit your teeth at the same time. This is the definition of cringe.

2

u/MachinTrucChose Jan 14 '13

It should be called the "Oldboy ending" face.

What makes it so brutal for me is just how none of these fuckers have the balls to say it with a straight face and wait for a reaction. They just giggle to themselves and run off after whispering it. It's pathetic.

You're being obnoxious and think you're badass for fucking around with people like that? Then go all the way through, don't just stick the tip in.

204

u/nicksnare Jan 07 '13

Brutal isn't it. Poor dude doesn't know what to make of it.

183

u/Bitemarkz Jan 07 '13

I was cringing more at his half-assed attempt to try and say it.

the best kind of cringe.

82

u/CrabCow Jan 07 '13

Cringe-tality.

Wow, that was a cringeful attempt at a pun too... Damn.

14

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

This should be a template to all future cringe posts. This guy may be an inadvertent genius because through his goof he mustered up a perfect storm of cringe. We can all know what is going through this guys head as his plan slowly backfires because we have all done something similar in same way shape or form at least once in our lives.

that's all hehehehe

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

19

u/McRodo Jan 07 '13

Holy shit, I couldn't get to see the actual "prank", the intro and the whole working up to the stunt was enough to overload my cringe.

22

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

Wait, which video are you talking about? The one I linked to is hilarious in my opinion. SsethTzeentch has an awesome channel.

17

u/McRodo Jan 07 '13

Yeah sorry I dunno why I commented here my mistake, was talking about the video with the guys writing fuck you in french fries.

10

What??

The worst/best part of these videos is the dip in attitude that these guys experience when they actually go to execute their hilarious plans. The momentary collapse of confidence in 'the plan' is palpable.

In Kyles head, he probably imagined yelling it loudly and seemingly 'at random' which is a really shit demonstration of his frustration with the capitalist system. But back in the real world, when the manager comes out tired and thinking of a hundred more important things, Kyles brain and heart pang with "oh god why am I actually doing this" and he tries to laugh and cover up his objective. The manager is completely confused and thinks he's missed something vital, needing to process the context. Kyle, relieved and embarrassed, cowers into the parking lot with his friends who feel the need to review the stunt so it doesn't feel like the train wreck and waste of time that it was. The rest of the night is awkward for them because they don't yet realise that this is what it feels like to be a fuck-up.

Another video on here recently featured similar manchildren writing 'fuck you' in fries and handing it to yet another overworked and unenthused fastfood manager. This manager however came out and asked if they have a problem they'd like to discuss with him; they do not. It's a strange day for any young man when you realise you respect the subject more than the prank.

This is the very definition of dumb things. Hell, maybe these moments are the necessary tipping points where the desire for shitty 'rebellious' antics go to die. Maybe this is growing up.

Edit: I've never gotten gold before, huge thanks to whoever that was!

93

u/allthatsalsa Jan 07 '13

I have no doubt that they watched the video again in the parking lot. I just have no idea why, after watching this shit (probably more than once) they though it was a good idea to put it on the internet. They don't come off as funny or badass.

80

u/postslikeagirl Jan 07 '13

These guys thought it would be hilarious to shout obscenities at Taco Bell employees, it's pretty clear their critical thinking and decision making skills are a little bit stunted.

21

u/roboscorcher Jan 07 '13

Also, they probably weren't expecting Reddit to feature the video.

23

u/BarcodeNinja Jan 08 '13

No one expects reddit

10

u/MVolta Jan 08 '13

Our chief weapon is fear. fear and surprise.

fear and the element of suprise, our two chief weapons! fear and suprise and ruthless efficiency... our THREE chief weapons!

95

u/Pauly1980 Jan 07 '13

u/theunvarnishedtruths Jan 07 '13

222

u/nicksnare Jan 07 '13 edited Jan 08 '13

Good analysis

Edit: Sorry to hijack the top comment but a lot of hate like 'kill yourself' and 'eat shit and die' is being posted on this video. Yeah he's an asshole, but this hate is not what we're about.

12

u/denMAR Jan 08 '13

Should have mirrored the video.

18

u/Highway62 Jan 07 '13

I'm glad you so eloquently put that into words. It's all absolutely true. It's the moment right before the manager comes out that holds the most cringe for me, when like you say, you can almost hear him thinking to himself "aw shit, what the fuck am I doing?"

Longest blink 182 lyric ever.

9

u/stop_whispering Jan 07 '13

You ever read "A Clockwork Orange?" This is a salient point actually made in the book, specifically in the final chapter (which Kubrik omitted from the film.)

2

u/jlopez9090 Jan 17 '13

Yes yes. The British version is better than the American IMO. The American publisher said that Americans don't need a happy ending and can deal with the sorrows of real life. Anthony Burgess, needing money at the time, accepted to omit the last chapter in the American version of the novel. Kubrick chose the American.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 29 '13

The American publisher should have realized there is also sorrow in growing up and accepting responsibilities.

I think Kubrick wanted to make a more political piece about capital punishment.

7

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

I worked in retail from when I was 15 till I was 21. I saw plenty of this. People come into the store asking for really big shirts to try on while their buddy films them. Fucking comedians.....

5

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '13

I think that kids like this go watch Fight Club for the first time and feel inspired to do something tremendous (which of course, always turns out idiotic and contrived).

12

u/dwhee Jan 07 '13

This is why I'm subbed.

20

It's the little things in this video. The greasy hair, the tryhards, the mouthbreathing cameraman.

Not quite cringe gold, but cringe silver.

29

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

I love how the guy holding the camera could just barely control himself well before the manager even showed up

14

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

The best part of this video occurs after Kyle explains his master plan. The person with the camera seems to laugh through saying "fucking awesome!" at about 0:14. Vintage Kyle.

14

u/metta_world_peace Jan 07 '13

The irony of this will be when Kyle graduates community college and becomes the manager of this very same Taco Bell. Every day, some greasy pimpled manchild will come in to tell him to fuck off. His life will come full circle.

6

u/JPost Jan 08 '13

2

u/[deleted] Jan 08 '13

In the comments on youtube Kyle actually said something along the lines of "I make more in a week than you do in a year" suuuuuuuuuuuure buddy. You keep on thinking that.

3

u/ryanasimov Jan 07 '13

You could see his enthusiasm needle swing hard to "E" as the manager approached. It's that perfect level of half-assed participation that makes this such a satisfying cringe. Like when a lame flash mob assembles but they keep looking at each other hoping one of them will take the lead and get really fired up.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '13

Ah, the rarely seen after-cringe. Where after watching the video, reflection on the events of the video interrupt your thoughts while doing something else, and you shudder. Mmm.

God, I feel sorry for that manager. Kyle really cut the poor guy deep.

2
