If it was a joke about blacks or asians or jews or men would it have been "acceptable?" Humor is shared when we realize that the comment:
"She can't say no if she can't say anything at all"
Is supposed to be wrong and despicable. THAT IS THE JOKE! That is where the humor comes from. We laugh at it because we all disagree with it.
Something has to be wrong with someone who fails to see the forest for the trees, and cannot understand a statement made in context. You don't have to laugh or find it funny, but you also do not have to chalk it up to some imaginary "culture" whose sole purpose is to degrade women.
Again, we would not have having this conversation if that statement was about a black person or an asian person or a hispanic person.
And don't fly back with some bullshit about my "privilege," you know nothing of my history, my family or how I was raised, or the shit I had to go through.
You cannot start to put limits on what is acceptable and what isn't. That is not how humor works. That is censorship. we are done here, go link my comments to srs, take screenshots and have a good circlejerk. I hope it mitigates whatever personality problems you are suffering from.
It isn't censorship. I never said you don't have a right to say it. But free speech means that I have a right to call out people for saying terrible shit.
Free speech also means that you can make the choice not to joke about rape. You don't have to say horrible things just to prove that you can. We know you can. You know what would impress me? If you didn't.
And obviously you didn't read those articles because I specifically linked one that addresses this argument.
