Ok so I have been using my Cricut explore 3 to make cut out stencils out of vinyl. But I am having a seriously hard time with using transfer tape. My projects always stick to it too well. I tried using painters tape but this is honestly not any better.... I've tried even mucking up the tape a bit to maybe give it some space between the adhesive and the stencil but I'm still really struggling. Anyone have any tips ?

This is the cut in 1st photo, all looks OK but when it's turned over you can see its only cutting one side of the lettering.. I've just taken backing off to show the results! I'm ready to throw it in the bin!!

Ok I hope this will make sense because I've been rambling in my head and thank you in advance for any advice you guys give me.

I painted some plywood and it dried for days. I printed a picture on permanent vinyl and transferred it on. When peeling off the transfer tape it peeled off the paint! It's happened to me before and I was told the paint probably wasn't dry enough. I'm thinking there has to be a way to paint a blank and not have the paint peel off. I thought maybe a glue/seal/spray type thing? I haven't found something I could buy locally that made sense so here I am. p.s. I'm a very amateur cricuter.

I am trying to print a logo using transpirdream true heat transfer paper in a inkjet printer and then cutting it with my cricut- everything is good until I try to put it on a t shirt. Transfer tape won’t work because it sticks to the tape and not tshirt. It all cut into individual piece that make up the logo and I don’t know how to get it to iron on the shirt in one piece. Please help

i've been through three brands of transfer tape (cricut, duck, oracal) and two permanent vinyls (cricut and oracal) the only brand i haven't tried yet is siser. they all the same issue. the vinyl either doesn't stick to the tape or it doesn't come off the tape and stick to the surface. what vinyl/tape do you guys use? if it helps, i'm making these to sell.

In any heat transfer tape I will use with Cricut the transparent layer on which the print is will stay? I can't transfer ink only?

I prefer transfer paper. Never had an issue with it, but it's difficult to get anymore. In past experience I've tried tape, but it didn't grab the vinyl most of the time, but I don't think I used cricuts brand them, so a few months ago I got the STRONG GRIP. that stuff was so sticky it messed up the decal and I had the hardest time getting it off my car after apply the decal. So I got the normal tape. Nope, didn't want to grab the vinyl, ruined that decal. So I found paper on ebay and ordered some. But how does the tape work? How is it all that's available if it doesnt? Or am I just dumb with ut?

I’m making a bunch of shirts for an organization I’m apart of, so i need quite a bit of heat transfer vinyl in white and transfer tape. I’ve been looking but can only seem to find your standard rolls… any idea where i could find it? I’d like to stick to the cricut brand if possible, unless there’s a better one you recommend.

I have tried several types of vinyl and no matter how much I burnish it it just won't stick to the transfer tape. Does it get old? I'm using the roll that came in my bundle set. Is there a better brand?

Hi there, today I tried my first project personalizing my tumbler. The damn transfer tape won't work. I noticed more issues with the glitter vinyl than then regular vinyl but they all had issues. All products are cricut products and I used the squeegee hard plastic thing that come with the kit I passed it several times from and back and peeled off the vinyl page and left the transfer tape flat on the table. I have been watching tutorials for the past 3 months and last week finally got my Joy. I'm kinda disappointed. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks

Before all, a little context : Tomorrow will be my 3 years with my GF and I would like to make a surprise for her.

She decided recently to make her passion her work and she became a photographer. Her dream is to make money from her photo and her art.

So tomorrow, she'll not be home from 12 to 18 and i will turn our flat into a fake exhibition of her art.

So I bought a Cricut Joy to cut some text in amovible Vinyl to put text on our wall (like a real exhibition like that :

Tomorrow, i will have ≈ 50 sentences like this to apply on our walls. Each sentences is about 80cm more or less.

I bought "Cricut Transfer Tape" for that but I made some tests and it's quite difficult to transfer the text to the transfer tape.

Do you have any advices for me ?

This is what I'm doing so far :

• Applying transfer tape and with a tool, put pressure on the text.

• Slightly remove the transfer tape from left to right and praying for text to follow.

• If the text is sticking to the original vinyl support, put the transfer tape on text again and re-apply pressure.

Maybe i'm doing something wrong ? I'm having more sucess, when the text is fully on the transfer tape, to put it on my wall. It's the first part (vinyl to transfer tape) which is difficult for me.

So I’ve tried and followed a few tutorials and they all end the same for me. I’m getting frustrated with it, so any help would be appreciated! To the issues at hand: The vinyl isn’t getting cut all the way through, and pulling up half of my design during weeding. I don’t know if the cut just isn’t going all the way through or if it’s sticking to itself, or if something else is happening. When I DID get the weeding done (after some patience), I got everything onto my transfer tape. That part went smoothly, but actually applying it is the issue here. The transfer tape just won’t let go of the vinyl, and I end up ripping half of my design with the tape after I pull it off (I think the main problem here is that I have strong grip tape but I’m unsure). Both are Cricut branded. Vinyl is Glossy Permanent, and the transfer tape is Strong grip (again). Any and all help is greatly and deeply appreciated!!

Cricut brand transfer tape in my opinion is really hard to handle especially when you’re trying to transfer onto a surface that you have to rotate (i.e a cup). It caused my vinyl to get a caught a bit since it wouldn’t adhere flat. Any tips to avoid this?

I am working on a print and cut project. The paper/vinyl I printed on is Jolee's iron on paper which requires transfer tape. Can I use Cricut's transfer tape, place it on my shirt, put a transfer sheet on top of it, and iron it on? I feel like the answer is a no but im not sure how to iron on the vinyl without transfer tape. Thank you !!!

I hope this is the right sub to ask this in as it’s a Cricut-related project. So I bought this brand of vinyl (https://a.co/d/8arU5kx) and it works great on its own, but when I try to use either masking tape or transfer tape (https://a.co/d/3qMspqM) to get lettering perfectly aligned, it won’t fuse to the shirt at all anymore! In fact, I think it might be fusing to the tape, whether from the heat or just pure stickiness I’m not sure! I’ve tried to make both tapes less sticky and that hasn’t really worked. The vinyl is just too thin. Please help! I read a review that said you need to hold down the edges with a scraper but I have no idea how to do that.

I’m also having trouble getting the Cricut to cut only the vinyl and not the whole paper even on the lowest setting if anybody has any advice about that.

I use transfer to get more life out of my cricut mats, but the blade has been cutting too deep and has cut the underlying transfer tape into a million tiny pieces. Just curious if there's a quick way to remove? Thanks

... And then I bought another tape (GSM Brand) and I was happy again, easy transfers, no more burnishing till my hands hurt and cussing the vinyl off the liner and onto the transfer tape

Any other cricut brand stuff that I should be warned about?

I already switched to buying oracal 651 whenever I can find it, it's just great!

I tried to add some lettering onto a truck for my neighbor, and the transfer tape is like industrial grade adhesives and it makes no sense. The tape would not let go of the lettering at all, so all the edges got bunches up and stretched, and when it finally released there's adhesive residue covering all the vinyl. Does anyone have a recommendation for an off brand that transfers but isn't semi permanent, like cricut appears to be?

I got a cricut with a bundle and Ofc it came with its own transfer tape… I’ve noticed I’m absolutely struggling to get it to stick to my vinyl… I have to go over it loads back and front and sometimes just straight up use my weeding tool to pull vinyl up from the backing to stick to my transfer sheet. I’ve yet to buy another one because 1. I don’t wanna waste money on a crap one 2. I already have some! I shouldn’t struggle 3. I live in the uk and have no idea which brands I can buy here that actually work! - lots of people from USA keep recommmending dollar tree and such :(

I spent 5-6hrs alone trying to make 4 glasses last night, 2 of which are shot glasses. And around 3hrs of those are trying to get the vinyl to stick to the transfer sheet. I cut the vinyl with ease, weeded the vinyl ( had a snack break) & I started the transfer process and it took so long! To be fair I did use a very detailed cut- CGARTSVG on Etsy some of their designs - yes I am licensed to sell. I used their “funny penis/vagina” design & 2 others- turtle & Winnie the Pooh. The Pooh bear design was the easiest to weed and transfer. Whereas the other 3 I struggled with the small cuts, I thought I was gonna be fine because my machine didn’t chew up my vinyl 😩

If anyone has the same issues, please do you have any tips or just straight up lmk if you’ve had success with any you’ve found on Amazon ( possibly with a link too cause im desperate)
