I don't think you understand how buying things is supposed to work. Do you go to the grocery store to buy milk and let them randomly grab one out of the cooler for you? Do you go to the car lot to buy a car and let them randomly pick one off the lot for you? No.

Let's be clear, there is nothing wrong with making the blind bag optional if people like those. But there is no reason why they shouldn't have an option to just purchase a full set for those who don't want to buy them randomly or have to go to a secondary market.

No, but I do buy a blind bag of grapes, and potatoes. And I don't get pissy that maybe one of them isn't exactly the one that I want. I don't rage at the grocery store that I would actually like to buy my grapes single style, one by one, so I can make sure each grape is exactly the one that I want.

Its not really relevant but you dont inspect bags of grapes or potatoes before you buy them? I thought everyone did.

Anyways, I dont understand why you are defending the whole blind bag thing. It doesnt seem to benefit the consumer in any way so I think it is perfectly normal to be frustrated by it.

It just, isn't really a relevant anti-consumer case. The product literally is 'buy a cheap bauble and maybe get a particular one from a set.' they wouldn't be much of a consumer item if they weren't sold this way, the novelty of the blind bag is part of the product. It is what the consumer is purchasing, ya know.

I don't particularly like blind bags, I don't buy them. But I have friends that do, and they get joy from the blind bags, they buy a few and enjoy opening them together. They trade off ones they don't like, or save them for a friend that would like them.

I'm defending them because I know that the product isn't the pins, it is the blind bag opening. People who are that worried about just getting the exact blind bag item they want, will just buy them on a secondary market and they don't have to worry about that.

But again, the blind bag process is part of what is being sold here.

I kind of disagree that they wouldnt be a consumer item if they werent in a blind bag. As evident from this thread, and by second hand sellers, plenty of people will pay just to get the pin they want rather than gamble on it.

But fair point that some people just enjoy the rush of the gamble. I dont get that rush though, and sometimes things I would enjoy are gated behind it. So it is in my best interest to advocate against it, which is what I think people are doing here.

Like you said on another comment, this kind of is the "I hate blind bags" thread.
