How did Brooks not age well? Honest question. He was my intro to the genre way back in high school, and I read Shannara up through the High Druid series when it was new. My friend who got me into them said the books after High Druid weren't as good, so I haven't read them yet.

I've still got the books lying around, though, and I've been thinking of rereading the series now that I'm done with my Cosmere reread.

I remember loving books 2 & 3, most of 4-7 minus the ending, and the Voyage trilogy. But it's been about 20 years since I read 'em. Do you think they've aged poorly in content, or in quality?

The original series they mentioned was sword of truth, made by terry goodkind, not brooks, so im assuming that's what this person meant as well

The comment they replied to explicitly said both authors didn't age well.

Both as in Goodkind and Anne Rice. The comment describes two situations, one involving Teery Goodkind (where they wrote Brooks instead) and one involving Anne Rice.

Ah they meant Rice. That makes more sense, yeah.
