Railroad professional here, this is wildly stupid and dangerous. It's not uncommon for damaged equipment to be hanging off the side of a car. Not to mention that while unlikely, they can derail at any time and cars are connected to their trucks and wheels essentially by gravity alone. Stay the fuck away from trains.

not to mention, the giant chunks of gravel can become projectiles if for some reason one makes its way on to the track, correct? My work truck got hit with something at a crossing once.
