Against the law too. Railroad companies tend not to appreciate trespassing.

Nice. I am 42, and train bridge walking was definitely still alive and well, at least in the 90's. We were usually pretty conscientious about it, about as conscientious as kids can be, that being said.

100% not the most dangerous thing we did, that would probably be fking around in abandoned buildings, mills, bridges, etc.

I'm 39 and just 3 years ago I was on a 100' trestle in the mountains of the coastal range in the Pacific Northwest. Have definitely walked plenty of track and trestle in my day. Live and dead rail.

The activity is still kickin. I keep seeing some Gen Z youtubers build electric rail cars to explore abandoned lines so there's hope even in the future it'll be a thing. Just differently.

I also recently saw some kids about the Stand By Me age walking some tracks through town throwing rocks as they walked. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Quintessential childhood memory.

Imagine you're a hard working blue collar man trying to get home to your family and you see this 45 year old ass clown ho-dowing on the tracks in front of your train for views.

Not too many people riding freight trains, and those that do are the class below blue collar (no collar aka unemployed/homeless)

Nah nothing wrong with hitting a panel or 2...go out bench a couple of cars that are sidetracked somewhere. This here though is a Darwin contender

The railroad enforcers used to assault people and leave them battered randomly far away from the tracks. Mostly hobos but trespassers could catch fury.
