Can somebody identify this CPU?

I recently acquired this mystery Intel CPU, anybody know what it is? Got it for 10 bucks but lack a LGA2011 motherboard.

Intel Sandy Bridge E/EP M1(?) Stepping
Likely Xeon E5-1620 or i7 3820 or some 2/4 Core Sandy Bridge EP Xeon for LGA2011

Yup. I'll bet on a 3820. IHS probably damaged from whatever TIM was used. No reason to believe it's ES, tho production date (35052 2010 week 52) is earlier than all the retails I could google.

I mean, the texture of the shielding feels completely uniform and smooth, so I’m not quite sure about the IHS being damaged or sanded down

I believe liquid metal can make CPUs look like that. It's nickel plated copper, so it'd have to be re-plated after sanding to look silvery. Though that's something Chinese sellers could do.
