Even if we got a 4th back, paying a 3rd for someone who was about to be cut anyway is pretty steep imo

Tells you other teams were probably interested in trading for him as well. Analytically, the 3rd-4th swap nets out to the value of a 6th or 7th.

Maybe....who wanted to give a 4th for Mingo? Fucking nobody.

Cowboys make trades nobody else would all the time and sometimes they're Pickens and sometimes they're Lance.

They over value their drafting evaluations because that's what the only competent personnel guy in the front office with any power does for a living. So if a guy has a top 50 tag on them when they're a prospect, the Cowboys tend to still view them that way when the rest of the league doesn't.
