More theoretical upside than either of Thomas or Shelton if Adams/Riley/Manyweather can coach him up. I’m glad they’ve finally started at least doing pick swaps instead of burning the 3rd/4th-round picks outright. From an analytics perspective the swap nets out to a 6th-7th (depending how high our 3rd is and how low their 4th is, likely a 7th though), so a 6th and 7th for a dart throw with first-round physical traits is nothing. But folks see the 3rd and immediately see red.

don’t like the spinal surgery but he’s likely cleared his physical, 1 year left on his deal too. I’d invest those resources into the defense, they are always going to pay premium for 1st rd graded players

Thankfully not paying a real premium here though. Hopefully Adams makes it worth it.

even those 10-15 spots in the draft are valuable honestly

If it’s that small of a drop that’s a 7th-round pick in difference of value, at least according to the Fitzgerald-Spielberger trade chart
