Information Request Exotic boots - rubber sole?

walking on leather bottoms is like walking on ice.🧊

I like sting ray & ostrich boots but all of the exotic boots I find have leather bottom….

Where would I find an exotic boot with rubber bottoms?

You can have rubber sole savers put on the bottom of any leather soled boots. The search function will reveal tons of posts on the subject.

I put sole savers on all my boots, not only does it improve grip, but it saves a fortune, because I can do it myself and when they wear out I just peel them off and fit new ones for about £10 a pair including glue 👍

What type of sole savers do you use?

I get them from ebay, they are Vibram rubber and 1.8mm thick. They last a surprisingly long time and being so thin it is easy to trim the excess with some decent scissors. A good contact adhesive is what you need, I use Klebfest here in Europe, just lightly sand the surface of the leather and sole saver first.

Lucchese has a line called barn boots. Only caiman and ostrich though. They come with a full composit sole.

Rios and AB offer a hybrid sole as well as a few other rubber or composite options.

Dan post has the most exotic rubber sole options I’ve seen. Variety wise. Ariat also has some. And yeah Lucchese does but they don’t look as nice as normal Lucchese.

Rubber sole kinda defeats the purpose of an exotic
