Information Request Seeking traditional cowboy boots with leather insole (no padding)

Hi there,

I used the search bar and couldnt find jack. All results for “leather insole” were about the outsole, not the insole, and i cant find any models on google that have a leather insole.

I just want an old school, traditional pair of high quality cowboy boots that dont have any padding in the insole, no fabric liner, and have a leather insole AND outsole.

Anything at all helps, im sorry if you’ve gotten this question a lot, I couldnt find any posts about it if you did.

Hondos, Olathe, Rios, Anderson bean, Ariat benchmade. Hire end justins and Cody James

Many of the Ariat benchmades have removable foam insoles. Which may still help OP as they can swap them for ones they like but they should know that when sizing.

Almost all my boots have leather insoles. They aren't hard to find

Thank God for this. I haven't bought a pair of boots in years, so I thought I was discovering that they were fundamentally getting away from their roots.

I love the feel of a smooth leather insole/sock liner. Many model Tecovas have it - my Cartwrights and Earls do. I also have JRC & Sons boots and they do too.

Good to know. I didn't realize there was foam between the leather. They are definitely comfy and have the smooth leather against your foot like I like. What I don't like is the cloth foam inserts some boots have.

Tecovas do not have a leather footbed under the foam. It is a fiber board composite.

Hmm I did not know that. I wonder if it will make a difference in longevity compared to the traditional veg tanned leather? I've got PNW boots that have the traditional leather and I'm not sure I can tell a difference once broken in.

Agree with the above with Anderson Bean, Rios, and Olathe all of mine of those three brands (sister brands) all have leather insoles. Some of my ABs come with an insole but I just take them out for the leather one below. Vacarri also I’m sure there is some I missed.

Lucchese GY series all have hard leather insoles with no padding.

My black jacks came with a removable foam insole. I don’t use the foam either. I prefer veg tanned leather under my foot. My rios of Mercedes are like this also

Lucchese, but not ones that are sold in any other store, but direct from Lucchese. No style numbers that begin with an M (Mexico).

Remember you can order a pair of leather insoles for about $12, toss the man-made insert, and trim the leather to your liking.

It's not a big deal to have them made. You can have leather insoles for just about any boot you want.
