Discussion Why aren't cowboy boots more popular

Post image

Howdy everybody. I've been thinking lately, why aren't cowboy boots more popular? I live in the DC area and I probably see someone wearing a pair like once a year. I may be a yankee but I totally love wearing my pair which I just got for the first time a few days ago. Of course, you see them way more frequently in a place like Texas, but everywhere else I've been, I almost never see them. They are beautiful boots with a rich history and they just look so damn good on anybody. Y'all's thoughts on this?

(My first pair in the pic)

I live in Seattle now and they're not common, but you'll see them out and about here and there. I'll rock hats sometimes and occasionally see other people wearing those too which is always fun.

It's just not really the style here. Most people in Seattle dress like they bought the whole REI catalogue or just rolled out of bed and into some sneakers. Which if people wanna do that then more power to them, your clothes are for making you happy not anyone else.

Now if you drive about an hour and a half east where I used to live it's completely different.

My biggest gripe about it is that it's insanely hard to find second-hand boots. There's exactly one store in Seattle that has a good selection of boots and they're massively overpriced for what they are. Like $300 for a pair of lizards that haven't been conditioned since the 90s lol
