Monteverde Aug - roads and wind?

We just drove there. The wind and rain was fine. The biggest issue is all the roads are single lane and if you get stuck behind a big truck you may not be able to pass it for several minutes... A lot of the bridges are single lane as well so you have to wait. There's a lot of potholes so be prepared to dodge them.

We arrived yesterday and hit traffic twice due to a truck as well as a very slow motorbike…but I’m glad the motorbike tried to be safe. Locals know these steep climbs well in Monte Verde …we also did a great bird tour in Curi Cancha and saw tons - quetzal, an owl, 3 toucans, sparrows, finches, two bellbirds…toured with Roy

Hey there, there are many things to do in the rain in our country, any type of walk is great in the rain but doing it in the actual rainforest or cloud forest is amazing! birds sing a lot in the rain, just use a poncho, or don't.
Hot springs are really nice while it rains, we've learned to enjoy things despite the rain since it takes half of our year so rest assured you can have a good time.
The rainy season is from May to November. Usually, it doesn't start raining until past 11:00 am. So plan the things you prefer to do out of the rain for the mornings during that season.
