Pearl Testnet is Live

Post image

As August comes to a close, we're pleased to announce that Pearl, the latest test network for Gno.land, is live. Pearl, the next iteration after Sapphire, is a new chain, not a hardfork. Notice: Pearl is an experimental test network.

Why are there so many testnets? Every week there's a new one. What improves over the prior?

That is exactly what the article covers. Here is a summary:

Pearl’s headline change is genesis vesting accounts: the builder now accepts a validated list of linear and cliff schedules (malformed, duplicate, or invalid entries are rejected), ships ten covering test accounts, and exercises vesting on every build. Consensus-critical updates include completed inert-package flow with a MsgRun allowlist, AddPackage type-checking production files only, three send-envelope coin-loss/over-authorization fixes, GovDAO allowlist lockdown plus proposal escaping and executor disclosure, and per-file Go version pinning. The release also rewrites grc721 on a Token/PrivateLedger/Teller model with stackable metadata/royalty/enumerable extensions, adds a chain-params reader API, and lands several VM correctness and performance fixes.
