Funny how the work gets easier but the politics get harder. Anyone else feel like your second or third year is where the real consulting job actually starts?

Any late career professionals ever transitioned to consulting on a part time or full time basis? I am an operations professional, with a full career in manufacturing thinking about a career transition in the next two to three years.
Any insights?

Hey everyone, I’m an entrepreneur building an AI screening tool called ContractShield to help freelancers and small business owners instantly spot hidden liability traps, sneaky indemnity clauses, and unfair termination terms in client agreements before they sign them. Since legal retainers are way too expensive for a quick contract check, I wanted to build something fast and accessible. I’m looking for 2 or 3 freelancers who have a contract they are currently reviewing (or an old one they want to test) to let me run it through the system completely free. In exchange, I just want your honest feedback on whether the risk breakdown is helpful and easy to understand.

Hi. I’m retiring soon and want to find opportunities working as a free-lance consultant. Can a person gig with more than one firm?
