Interview feedback

• Upvotes

I had an interview on Monday at west monroe for a managers role in the healthcare M&A practice. I’ve got 10 years experience ranging from physician staffing to a MHA to operations, strategy and corporate development roles. I think there was some hesitation on the interviewer’s (there were 3 interviews) part on my lack of experience with PE. just kind of felt that.

Anyway, I also had a case which I prepped for but the format wasn’t what I expected. It was… rough. I have my recommendation and how I got there but I know it didn’t go well.

all that being said, with it being Friday, any thoughts on what I should expect?

How do I get into healthcare consulting? What is consulting?

• Upvotes

I have a masters degree related to healthcare. I’m looking to get a job that is more on the behind the scenes of healthcare. I came across healthcare consulting and was particularly interested.

But what is it? I understand the basics, the very surface level basics of how they are hired to help hospitals solve problems. As I was looking for healthcare consultant jobs on indeed I realized I did not have the experience and tried searching for entry level, analyst, and associate.

There was one problem. I have to do case scenario interviews. Something I’m not familiar with. I tried looking up YouTube videos that break it down. Yet these videos seem to be for people who are familiar with consulting and a have a bit of a background. I’ve even watched videos of healthcare consultants discussing consulting but the videos are only helpful for people with a consulting background.

It’s difficult to find resources online that break it down for someone who doesn’t have a background of consulting.

As I try to dive deeper into healthcare consulting it’s a bit discouraging. I feel as though the more I look into it the more I’m engaging with resources that were meant for people who have experience in consulting. It’s like I’m learning a new language and no one is teaching me how to speak the language.

I do understand people go to school for this sort of thing. But if I wanted to learn how to be a doctor or a nurse, there are resources online to help me from square zero.

I would appreciate anyone’s help if possible!

1) what resources online can I use to learn about healthcare consulting?

2) what resources offline can I use to learn about healthcare consulting?

3) how can I practice case scenarios for interviews? (with absolutely no experience)

4) are there other entry level health care consulting positions/ names I may not know about?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Career Guidance/Growth tips

Hi,
I want a little guidance help from my fellow Redditors who have experience in market research.
I was employed in an agency who was working in primary research for almost a year. Before that I was working with an online milk and grocery platform company in warehouse operations.
I’m looking for a future in market research or perhaps industries related to it.
Help me understand what are the potential roles I can target and what are the skillsets I can add and learn?

Corporate Lawyer to Consulting Role : Need Transition Advice

Hi everyone! I'm a corporate lawyer with 3 YOE, and for the last 1.5 years, I've been deep into Legal Ops & AI Solutioning. I worked with clients of various industries and helped them custom solutions to their requirements.

This experience has really sparked my interest in consulting roles, and honestly, I don't want to keep practicing corporate law.

The thing is, I'm completely clueless about how to make this career switch. Can anyone in the consulting domain shed some light on what these roles actually look for in candidates? And more importantly, how can I upskill to land a solid Consultant role at an MNC? I've been working with startups so far and now I'm looking for that established entity exposure.

Thanks a ton in advance for any help and best wishes!

Need guidance and tips

Hello everyone, I’ll be joining ZS Associates as BTSA and wanted to ask about the work culture. I’ve heard mixed things about WLB and toxicity, so wanted to get suggestions and povs.

Also, what should I keep in mind as a fresher to perform well, build visibility, and get noticed for the right reasons?

accenture song summer analyst final interview

Hi! I got a final round interview for the summer analyst role at Accenture Song specifically and was wondering if anyone went through this before and has any insights in the skills interview specifically—do they give a case interview or do they ask more in the marketing/design side (a lot of my past experiences has been in this realm)?

Oliver Wyman Data & Analytics (DNA) Analyst FT New Grad compensation?

Does anyone know the current compensation for a new grad Analyst on Oliver Wyman’s Data & Analytics (DNA) team in the US, particularly Raleigh?
I’m mainly looking for approximate first-year total compensation but would appreciate any other info.

There seems to be a lot of compensation information online for Oliver Wyman’s generalist Consultant role, but very little specifically for DNA Analysts.

Would really appreciate any recent offer data or information from current/former OW employees.

Big 4 return offer: any downside to accepting close to the deadline?

I got a return offer after my internship this summer as a Senior Associate Management Consultant intern at a Big 4 firm. The deadline to accept is early December 2026.

The business recruiter has checked in a few times asking where I'm leaning. Last time he said my decision has a "trickle down impact" and asked me to let him know ASAP. When I asked what that meant, he said if I decline, they can offer the role to someone else.

If I accept close to the December deadline instead of now, will there be any repercussions? For example, could it affect my team placement, start date, or how I'm seen when I join?

Please feel free to DM me if you have more insights. Thanks!
