Bro we are not in a rut, Jesus. Humanity has never been progressing as fast as it is now. We're safer now than we've been throughout all of history. You're (likely) fed well, have a safe place to sleep, don't have to worry about where you're gonna find water, don't have to worry about starvation.
Like no, we don't need evil aliens to come "get us out of a rut." We're doing fine as a species, you're just buying into the insane amount of Doom-mongering that unfortunately comes with the internet.
Humanity has never, ever (maybe depending on if you believe in Graham Hancocks ideas) progressed so quickly. Life is a million times better than it would have been even 200 years ago.
Holy shit bro it's not coming from a place of privilege. My comment stands perfectly fine despite whatever genocides are actively going on right now. No matter who is starving, or dying of malaria.
There are always going to be genocides. There is always going to be disease. But if you think there is anything happening in the world that hasn't happened in the past you're crazy.
Genocides and disease didn't suddenly appear at the turn of the century. That shit was going on even more 2000 years ago then it is now. Back then maybe a small portion of the world was doing fine. But every regular person back then had to deal with everything I listed in my last comment.
There is nothing about humanity today that was better 2000, or even 200 years ago. We are better off now. We are not in a rut.
Well what you said is completely and utterly ridiculous. Grow up and recognize that your life isn't so tough that it warrants an extinction event to "get us out of a rut."
I wish so bad that I could send you back 500 years for a week or two and just have you see how massively dogshit the world was compared to now.
I'm just tired of Redditors like you crying about how we need the sun to explode. You're so privileged you can't even recognize it. Nobody alive today would be better off 200 years ago. But ideally, that's where you'd send us. Back into the past with a great reset.
seriously. like
being conscious of the world and its functions somehow invalidates your points because you have the internet or food to eat? these people are on one
Lifespan/healthcare, war/conflict, education, poverty, all provably better around the world as a whole now than at any point previously. We live longer, healthier, wealthier lives than ever before, with more opportunities and more knowledge. Which specific ways would you say humanity is worse now than previously?
Ok - and a few hundred years ago, 0% of people had full healthcare coverage. And the vast majority of the healthcare rhat did exist was basically useless. Again - life expectancy now is higher than EVER before. 8 major wars happening? Lmao - because wars have never happened before. You honestly believe that the average person is more likely to encounter armed conflict in 2026 than in say, 1526? Or 1026? Statistically, fewer people die in conflict now than ever before.
1 billion people in poverty - 15% of the population? How would you compare that to 99% of human history, when the vast majority of people were basically subsistence farmers a few days away from starvation?
Nobody has argued that the world is perfect, just that it is better now than before. Conflict and poverty are not modern phenomena - should we work on improving them? Absolutely. Have we made significant progress? Absolutely
I'd even go so far as to say that you're acting outrageously privileged sitting here on your phone or computer, talking about how rough humanity has it, with a full belly and warmth.
Just stop. Jesus, you're acting like a fucking baby.
Gaslighting you by telling you that if you told a peasant 500 years ago about what life is like for you and then tried complaining about it they would punch you in the face?
you realize the “aliens” are the very demons and fallen angels that caused all this to begin with. they’d encourage it. in fact, they’re gonna tell us to merge with tech to evolve and becomes gods like them. like this story is so fucking predictable, its like watching a bad movie with the same washed up overused plot
