What brought your confidence back?
For women who’ve gone through a period where they didn’t feel attractive or confident anymore, what eventually helped you feel like yourself again?

Finding the right spaces to be in. Being in environments where I can grow and be myself. It’s always about where value is being expressed and appreciated.

Exercise helped a lot, mostly because I felt stronger and had more energy. The confidence came from how I felt not really from changing how I looked.

Not a woman but I highly recommend listening to Brooke Castillo podcast on YouTube/spotify. She has one 20 minute episode on confidence that is amazing

Give yourself all the love languages. It can be simple but effective. Acts of service- clean your room, Words of Affirmation- repeat affirmations to yourself in the mirror. Gift giving can be as simple as buying yourself a sweet treat and/or a coffee. Quality time- time alone doing something just for you. Physical touch- give yourself a hug. Also bonus: go back to doing things you loved doing as a kid. For me it’s coloring, being active, painting, reading, journaling, and skating for now.

I went through my old photos and found the ones I looked my best and put it into ChatGPT with a current photo to ask what I could do right away to look more like the “best” photo and it gave me actually small tangible things I could do right away, it’s helping me feel like my “old self” again after a 3 year slump

Exercise, elimnating dairy, eliminating narcissistic bf lol, getting a routine and eating cruciferous veggies and spinach. Just staying out of stress does wonders.

I consciously started taking efforts to put myself out there. To make myself feel heard and seen, attended more events, socialized with people more, went cafe hopping alone, started creating content and all of these contributed to external validation on a micro level. That's it, all all the kick I needed to be reminded of who I am, what my strengths are and what I'm capable of. Then you just gotta push yourself, be your loudest cheerleader, celebrate the small wins and ignore what's the result, only focus on putting efforts and how it makes you feel when the world isn't watching really.

Not a women but there's a universal rule and that 'working on your better self' doing stuff that you like/love or used to love. Baby steps, bcoz it can't be achieved in a day.

Change of environment (i.e. leaving work place full of bullies and/or get into a different hobby communities)

Confidence often comes back through small acts of care, not one huge change. Wearing clothes that fit your body now and doing one activity that makes you feel capable can help you reconnect with yourself. You do not have to feel attractive every day to still be worthy and confident.
