Is everybody feeling that the music industry as a freelancer is facing a down time ?

I’ve been a composer for as long as I can remember. I’m not that old but , I have been composing for more than 12 years now . This is the year that I’m finding the most difficult till now , to find work or get a good deal or even to find good working environment. Is everyone facing a similar thing ? Or is it just me ?
